For those who want something more than standard products, Smith & Wesson offers two new L-frame, stainless steel models chambered .357/.38 Special +P. They can also be used out-of-the-box for competition shooting with good results.

The polymer-framed .45 XD-E is a compact external hammer-fired handgun with thumb safety – an interesting option for those who are not comfortable carrying a striker-fired pistol with no external safety lever. 

The barrels are machined from certified, pre hardened 416R premium grade stainless steel to extremely tight tolerances with a satin finish. They do not require gunsmith assembly and offer improved accuracy.

The new model is available in 2.50" (63 mm), 4.20" (106 mm) and 6" (152 mm) barrel lengths and it sports adjustable rear sights and fiber optic front sights. Rubber grips are one-piece with hardwood inserts. 

Faye Wills is from Ashford, Kent. She was 16 when she had her first introduction to shooting during a weekend job at her local clay shooting ground.
