The recently introduced top model in SIG Sauer's laser rangefinder line, the KILO8K-ABS GEN II is a compact monocular that combines advanced optics, a powerful ranging engine, and a full-featured ballistic suite in a field-ready package. One of the most significant upgrades is the redesigned optical system, engineered to dramatically reduce the blue color cast often associated with laser rangefinders – SIG Sauer states a 95-percent improvement in color accuracy and low-light performance, giving the user a more natural image, better contrast, and faster target recognition at dawn, dusk, or in difficult terrain.
KILO8K-ABS GEN II, max reflective range over 7,300 m

The KILO8K-ABS GEN II features a 25-mm objective lens diameter and 7x magnification. But at its core is the second-generation Lightwave DSP laser engine, now with XR extended range mode. Designed to deliver fast and consistent returns even in challenging atmospheric and environmental conditions, the system offers a maximum reflective ranging capability of up to 8,000 yards, or 7315 meters. Range on deer is 1828.8 meters.
The unit integrates the Applied Ballistics Elite military-grade calculator, complete with the full AB bullet database and custom drag curves. Combined with the onboard environmental sensors and a digital compass, the KILO8K-ABS GEN II can generate real-time ballistic solutions directly in the device, without relying on external inputs. Relevant ranging and ballistic data are shown on a crisp red active-matrix OLED display, designed to remain easy to read while keeping the sight picture clean and uncluttered.

Another useful field feature is the ability to drop remote waypoints through popular mapping platforms, including onX Maps, BaseMap, Apple Maps, and Google Maps. This makes the rangefinder not only a precision shooting tool, but also a practical navigation and observation aid for hunters, spotters, and tactical users working across large areas.
Priced at $1,499.99 in the US and assembled in Oregon by SIG Sauer’s Special Weapons Group, the KILO8K-ABS GEN II is built to meet MIL-SPEC expectations for durability, precision, and reliability.
