IWA OutdoorClassics is THE trade fair in Europe for hunting weapons, target sports, and equipment for outdoor activities. The fair showcases high-quality weapons and outdoor products of renowned international suppliers, as well as equipment meeting the needs of civil and governmental security forces. The IWA OutdoorClassics fair at the Nuremberg Exhibition Center is a meeting place for all manufacturers and dealers worthy of note. The fair brings together an array of industries that complement and complete one another. IWA 2017 will take place from March 3 to 6, 2017.
Since its founding, IWA OutdoorClassics has developed over the past 40 years to become the most important industry show for hunting, outdoor activities, target sports and security in Europe. IWA is characterized by tradition, innovation and exclusiveness, for which it renowned beyond Germany’s borders. Of the 45,530 visitors in 2016, around 60 percent came from 114 different countries. 80 percent of the 1,455 exhibitors came from 56 countries. This year as many as 1,500 exhibitors from around the world are expected.
The leading international trade fair takes place in ten exhibition halls covering a total area of 100,000 square meters at the Nuremberg Exhibition Center. IWA OutdoorClassics continues to be a trade fair that is only accessible to trade visitors. On the four days of the trade fair, exhibitors present their brand-new offerings – weapons, ammunition, optical systems and outdoor products – to trade visitors and journalists.
The 10 exhibition halls in Nuremberg house three large exhibition sections. New products are presented in these sections by the participating industries:
In the Target Sports section, trade visitors can find a broad range of firearms for hunting, sport, and collection purposes. A wide selection of ammunition, reloading equipment, and optical and electronic systems round off the offering. The target sport and hunting sectors are currently booming and a large number of new products are expected. This section is the mainstay of the leading trade fair for the arms industry.
The Nature Activities exhibition section offers everything to meet the needs of outdoor enthusiasts. The enormous range extends from hunting clothing and accessories as well as knives through to binoculars and other optical devices for nature observation, not to mention fishing accessories and hiking gear – simply everything required to be well-equipped in the outdoors. The extensive range of different knives for hunters and outdoor fans is worth a visit on its own.
In the Protecting People section trade visitors can find everything relating to civil and governmental security requirements. Here trade visitors can inform themselves about classics as well as new products incorporating future-oriented technologies. The spectrum of exhibitors is extensive and multifaceted – the need for protection has never been greater than it is today – accordingly, security equipment manufacturers are preparing themselves for the increasing demand. Enterprises present extensive offerings ranging from gun cabinets through pepper sprays and complete security equipment to emergency rescue equipment.
But it is not only the international product offerings that are impressive – with its framework program 2017, IWA OutdoorClassics again offers an extensive body of information that is very interesting for traders as well as manufacturers, journalists and public officials.
The framework program includes live shows, special displays on various themes, and specialist presentations in the IWA forum. In cooperation with the German Association of Gunsmiths and Arms Dealers and the Association of Hunting/Sporting Weapons and Ammunition Manufacturers, the forum offers specialist presentations by representatives of the most varied industries. In the IWA’s demonstration area, visitors can very closely experience live presentations of the latest developments in the area of civil and governmental security requirements.
On the gunsmiths’ market square, tradition meets modernity. Trade visitors gain an insight into the craft of gunsmithing on the walkway between halls 3A and 4A. Gunsmithing schools are also present on site and provide information on this skilled occupation. Other special displays at IWA OutdoorClassics are the New Products Center, the Job Center and the section for young and innovative enterprises.
