Phoenix Trinity H2 in 9mm: An Ultra-Premium 2011 Competition Pistol

Based in Florida, Phoenix Trinity offers a compact but highly specialized lineup of competition pistols distinguished by their innovative engineering and unmistakable aesthetics.

The Phoenix Trinity H2 pistol is available with either a ported barrel and single-port compensator or a barrel weight, both designed to reduce muzzle rise and improve controllability.

The latest addition to the company's catalog is the H2, chambered in 9mm Luger (9×19mm). This semi-automatic pistol combines a modular double-stack 2011-style frame with exceptionally precise manufacturing and an unmistakable race-gun appearance, highlighted by the intricately machined slide serrations.

At the heart of the platform is Phoenix Trinity's EVO Grip, a one-piece aluminum grip module introduced in 2013. More than a decade later, it remains the only monolithic aluminum grip on the market to incorporate an integral palm swell machined directly from a billet of 7075 aluminum. Unlike conventional 2011 grips, both sides are slightly wider, increasing the contact area with the shooter's hand to provide a more natural, comfortable, and secure grip.

The aluminum grip module mates with a steel upper frame section that houses the fire-control components and incorporates the slide rails, resulting in a modular hybrid construction that combines the advantages of both materials.

Phoenix Trinity H2: Bold Styling with a Purpose…

Machined from a solid billet of certified 7075 aerospace-grade alloy using CNC work centers, the EVO Grip stands out for its exceptional strength, dimensional precision, and premium finish quality. The choice of material provides an excellent balance between durability and weight, enhancing handling characteristics without compromising structural rigidity.

The aggressively textured grip is clearly designed with competitive shooting in mind, providing maximum purchase under the demanding conditions of IPSC and USPSA competition. At the bottom of the grip, a generously flared magwell speeds up reloads during high-pressure stages.

A row of hexagonal ports machined into the top of the slide vents propellant gases on the ported-barrel version, helping to keep the pistol flatter during rapid fire.

Mounted on the EVO Grip is a slide that resembles a piece of modern industrial art. Beyond its striking appearance, every machining detail serves a purpose. The row of hexagonal lightening cuts along the top also functions as gas vents on the ported-barrel version. The hexagonal motif continues across the slide flats, where intricate machining alternates with rows of raised hexagonal facets to create a distinctive visual signature. Amid all this elaborate machining, the dust-cover-mounted Picatinny rail almost goes unnoticed. The slide is finished in black DLC (Diamond-Like Carbon) coating for maximum wear resistance.

The Phoenix Trinity H2 features a 4.87" (123 mm) linkless barrel, eliminating the traditional swinging link in favor of an integral cam surface machined into the barrel lug. Buyers can choose between two configurations: one equipped with a single-port compensator, the other fitted with a substantial barrel weight. Both are designed to minimize muzzle rise and improve controllability during rapid-fire strings.

The H2's slide is optics-ready, with a factory cut compatible with Trijicon SRO, RMR, RMR HD, and Leupold DeltaPoint Pro footprint optics. Thanks to the platform's modular architecture, shooters can also configure the pistol with traditional iron sights and install an optional slide racker, making it easier to retract the slide when chambering the first round.

The controls are equally competition-oriented. The H2 features an enlarged ambidextrous thumb safety, a lightweight flat-faced skeletonized trigger with a distinctive stepped profile, and a recessed slide stop designed to reduce the chance of inadvertent activation during firing.
