The SHOT Show 2025 is just around the corner: the time, from January 21 to 24; the place, as is customary since 2010, Las Vegas, Nevada; the venue, the Venetian Expo and Caesars Forum.
Owned and sponsored by NSSF, the firearm industry trade association, along its 22.3 kilometers of aisles the SHOT Show will have more than 2,700 exhibitors from some 120 countries and more than 55,000 attendees – yes, it is huge indeed! This will be the 47th edition but, maybe more importantly, the first to be held during Donald Trump's second presidential term.
Back in February 2024, in front of thousands of National Rifle Association members, Trump promised that the "Second Amendment will always be safe with me as your president". But people buy more guns when there is a risk for their gun rights and when they sense more restrictions are coming – as would have been the case if the democratic candidate Kamala Harris had been elected. So, it will be interesting to see how US customers and the gun industry will actually react to the new political course.
SHOT Show 2025: background information
Back to the event proper: as you probably already know, the show is for trade only and not open to the public. On its more than 816,000 net square feet exhibitors from all over the world will showcase their products / services for sport shooters, hunters, concealed carriers. And not just firearms, but also ammunition, optics, men's and women's apparel, airgun & airsoft products, knives, camping equipment, etc. Moreover, nearly one-third of the SHOT Show’s exhibit halls are dedicated to protection equipment and tactical accessories needed by law enforcement, SWAT teams, private security and the armed forces. As a side event, the LEEP – Law Enforcement Education Program – in particular focuses on protection measures and practical execution specifically for law enforcement agencies.
For the second year in a row, the Archery Business Pavilion is designed to provide a comprehensive look at the archery industry, from traditional equipment to cutting-edge technology in compound bows, trail cams and other gear. The Pavillion will feature exhibits from leading manufacturers and suppliers in the archery industry, along with hunting and outdoor products used in the pursuit of bowhunting.
As we are accustomed to, starting from January 19 the SHOT Show 2025 will also include events such as the NSSF/ HAVA Golf Classic, the Industry Day at the Range, and the Suppliers Showcase – the latter was launched in 2017 to allow material and service suppliers to meet directly with the manufacturing community, and more than 500 suppliers will be participating this year.
Additionally, the SHOT University offers training courses to help retailers and ranges hone their management skills, exploring better practices and new ways to make retail or shooting range business thrive in the most competitive and regulated marketplaces.
All work and no play? Of course not: the SHOT After Dark will allow industry colleagues to meet at some of the most popular nightclubs and bars in Las Vegas open exclusively for 2025 SHOT Show badge holders. (After all, it should be stressed that the SHOT Show typically brings more than $88 million in non-gaming revenue to the Las Vegas economy.)
