SIG Sauer's M400 AR-style series extends with the M400 Switchblade Rifle Caliber Pistol. Introduced as “the ultimate M400 pistol” and chambered in 5.56 NATO, the new semi-auto addition, it “brings an entirely new level of performance to the M400 product family with unmatched flexibility and capability,” as Tom Taylor, Chief Marketing Officer and Executive Vice President, Commercial Sales, SIG Sauer, Inc, says.
SIG Sauer M400 Switchblade Rifle Caliber Pistol details
Operating system is the classic AR's direct impingement system. Among the most relevant – and unique in the M400 family – features of the M400 Switchblade, the fully ambidextrous controls include the charging handle, selector, bolt catch and release for a smooth transition from either hand. SIG's Rifle Caliber Pistol additionally sports the new Magpul BSL telescoping brace that offers improved stability. Thanks to its M-LOK accessory rails, the rigid free-floating handguard can accept a wealth of accessories for full flexibility and capability.
The frame is aluminum, with a Cerakote Titanium Elite finish. The 11.5”/292 mm cold hammer-forged carbon steel barrel is tapered for easy suppressor installation with a three-prong flash hider that installs with a clamp system. The hider should help eliminate deflection from the added weight of accessory installation. A two-stage match grade, flat-blade Matchlite Duo Trigger trigger round off this nice package.
The SIG Sauer M400 Switchblade comes optics-ready with a thirty-round magazine. Price has not be announced yet.
