New SIG Custom Works P320AXG-Combat pistol: all-metal, optics- and suppressor-ready

P320 fans now have another option to choose from: SIG Sauer Custom Works has worked its magic once again, introducing the metal-framed AXG-Combat. The new carry-size all-metal P320 variant “combines the weight and balance of our classic metal-framed pistols with the performance and reliability of the P320”.

From SIG Custom Works, the P320AXG-Combat features the metal AXG grip module. The Custom Works engraved slide is optic-ready.

Precision machined with deep undercuts and with an extended beavertail, the AXG (Alloy XSeries Grip) metal grip module is the most characterizing feature of the  P320AXG-Combat. The gun sports the today's essential FDE and Nitron two-tone appearance popularized by the original P226 Combat. 

But aesthetics aside, it is also equipped with the SIG Custom Works optic-ready Nitron slide. The AXG grip module with extended magwell is FDE anodized. The 4.6”/177 mm  barrel is 1/2x28 threaded for the mounting of suppressors – the reason why the pistol has been fitted with suppressor-height XRAY3 night sights for a taller and unobstructed sight picture.

The grip module is FDE anodized and includes the extended magwell for quick magazine changes. 

The AXG (Alloy XSeries Grip) was introduced by SIG a while ago, featuring in SIG Custom Works's first pistol release, the P320 AXG Scorpion. 

It was also used in the AXG Pro and AXG Equinox P320 variants. Just like the mentioned models, the P320AXG-Combat is a 9mm striker-fired pistol and – again like all SIG Custom Works products – offered as a limited edition.

As Phil Strader, Firearms Product Management Director at SIG, explains in the video below, the metal AXG grip module gives the manufacturer the opportunity to use very unique grip panels and inserts – here, the Hogue G10 FDE grip panels. 

The optic-ready slide allows for the mounting of reflex sights such as the SIG Romeo1Pro. The new P320AXG-Combat ships with three FDE 21-round magazines. Being a limited run, each P320AXG-Combat pistol comes with the Custom Works engraved slide and is delivered in an exclusive lockable case with a Custom Works challenge coin and a certified custom certificate.
