Oakley for Beretta 500: limited-edition sunglasses to mark Beretta’s 500th anniversary

To mark its 500th anniversary, Beretta is unveiling an exclusive collaboration with Oakley, an American specialist founded in 1975 in California and now part of the EssilorLuxottica Group. A world leader in high-performance sports eyewear, Oakley is renowned for its proprietary lens technologies, such as Prizm and High Definition Optics, used by professional athletes and enthusiasts of outdoor activities, shooting sports, cycling, running and extreme sports.

The glasses draw inspiration from the iconic Oakley's mask eyewear of the 1990s, reimagined with a lightweight titanium frame.

The collaboration between the American company and the Gardone-based firm has given rise to the Oakley x Beretta 500, a limited and numbered edition of just 500 sunglasses. The project stems from the collaboration between two brands united by a shared commitment to innovation, high performance and a strong affinity for the world of sport and the outdoors.

Designed in California and made in Italy, the Oakley x Beretta 500 sunglasses represent the perfect blend of Beretta’s industrial heritage and the technological approach that has made the American brand famous in the sports eyewear sector. The result is an exclusive accessory aimed at winning over both fans of the Gardone-based brand and collectors.

“This product is not only a celebration of an important milestone for Beretta, but also an expression of how heritage can continue to evolve through design and innovation. Together with Oakley, we wanted to create something functional, distinctive, and enduring. An object that reflects the shared values, craftsmanship, and technical excellence that define both brands” said Francesco Milleri, Chairman and CEO at EssilorLuxottica.

The eyewear collection features clear references to the Beretta 486 over-and-under shotgun by Marc Newson.

Stylistically, the glasses echo the enveloping design of Oakley’s iconic 1990s mask eyewear, reimagined through a lightweight titanium frame. To this foundation are added references to the Beretta 486 over-and-under shotgun by Marc Newson, one of the Italian brand’s most iconic products of contemporary design. The smooth transitions, continuous volumes and sculpted geometries indeed recall some of the distinctive elements of the firearm designed by the renowned Australian designer.

From a technical standpoint, the Oakley x Beretta 500 features Oakley Black Prizm lenses, designed to offer exceptional clarity, optical precision, impact resistance and full UV protection. Features that confirm the product’s performance-oriented design, designed for those who embrace the outdoors and sporting activities without compromise.

There are numerous details that pay tribute to Beretta’s five centuries of history. The titanium nose pads feature the 500th-anniversary logo, whilst the lenses bear the Beretta logotype, finely milled. The outer temples feature laser-etched Oakley and Beretta logos, paired with a progressive serial number.

The polished metal case with a clamshell design is inspired by the vacuum-formed holsters used in the firearms industry and includes a metal card bearing a unique serial number that certifies the product’s authenticity.

The case has also been designed specifically for this special edition. Crafted from polished metal in a clamshell design, it is inspired by the vacuum-formed holsters used in the firearms industry and includes a metal card bearing a unique serial number that certifies the product’s authenticity.

Daniele Piva, Vice President Business Commercial Market at Fabbrica d'Armi Pietro Beretta, said: "Collaborating with Oakley on this special project has been a natural fit. Both brands share a deep-rooted commitment to innovation, performance, and a profound connection with the world of sport and the outdoors. Celebrating Beretta’s 500-year legacy through this limited edition is both an honor and the beginning of a broader journey — one where Beretta and Oakley will continue to explore new opportunities to design and develop products that push the boundaries of performance in the world of sport."

With this limited edition, Beretta adds another chapter to its 500th-anniversary celebrations, reaffirming its commitment to combining tradition, innovation and design through high-profile partnerships.
