Beretta 94X Performance: the latest evolution of the Italian 9mm competition pistol

Already handled by Team Beretta shooters at the IPSC European Championships  2026 currently underway in Buzsák, Hungary, the new 94X Performance pistol is a platform designed specifically for the speed, precision and control demanded in IPSC and USPSA. Engineered for natural ergonomics, superior balance and unwavering consistency, the 94X Performance is a competition pistol that delivers confidence and performance at the highest level of competition.

Last January, Beretta’s top shooters from around the world came to Italy to test the final design - a platform they helped shape through their feedback and unwavering dedication across multiple co-development sessions with Beretta R&D team. The response was immediate and overwhelmingly positive, with shooters highly impressed by the performance and features of this new pistol. Having received their first samples just a few months ago, they were match-ready from day one. This is a clear testament to the natural ergonomics, unmatched control, and competitive edge the 94X Performance brings - marking a true step forward for Beretta in the world of practical shooting.”

Built around the new Vertec Pro frame with extended geometry, the 94X Performance is designed to deliver a higher, more natural grip and a 20-shots capacity with flush magazine. An upswept beavertail and raised trigger undercut enhance comfort, control, and stability during rapid fire. The RDO slide cut, positioned 3 mm lower than previous designs, further reduces the center of mass for improved recoil management, while enhancing optic-to-barrel alignment and minimizing the risk of optic interference.

The cold-hammer forged barrel of the 94X Performance features an advanced steel formulation designed to extend barrel life even under extreme round counts.

Paired with a redesigned firing pin and extractor, now incorporating a new integrated elastomer buffer, the pistol delivers exceptional consistency and unwavering long-term reliability.

The redesigned grips panels with ergonomic grip, combined with an even more aggressive frame checkering, ensure unmatched control even at speed. The low-profile safety levers integrate perfectly with the frame, allowing for an uninterrupted grip and more precise and confident handling.

At the core of the pistol, the state-of-the-art Xtreme-S trigger system delivers an extremely short, fast, and intuitive reset, translating every input into crisp, immediate action, while fully preserving Beretta’s uncompromising safety standards.

The 94X Performance is available at launch in two Production configurations:

• The Launch Edition, a 2026 bold special edition to celebrate Beretta’s 500th anniversary and stand out on and off the range. Featuring DLC coating with acid-green logo accents, and special aluminum grip panels with 3D printed polymer inserts including the Beretta 500 years logo (provided in 3 different sizes, right and left for wide combinations).
• The core configuration designed as a long term platform for Beretta’s IPSC and USPSA competition journey in the years ahead: featuring a Graphite Grey finish, laser-engraved logo details and polymer grip panels with Beretta 3 arrows logo.
