Ruger Scout Rifle now also chambered in .350 Legend

The recently introduced .350 Legend cartridge is seeing a burst of interest from US manufacturers (another example here): here comes Ruger with its Scout Rifle in .350 Legend.

The straight-walled .350 Legend is a caliber developed by Winchester for short- and mid-range hunting that offers excellent muzzle energy and mild recoil. On the other hand, Ruger's Scout bolt-action rifle series is popular and much appreciated for its ruggedness, and already includes versions chambered in .308 Winchester, 5.56mm and even in .450 Bushmaster. The new rifle in .350 Legend shares many of the features already seen in other Scout models, such as a black synthetic stock, a muzzle brake, and a forward-mounted Picatinny rail that allows for the mounting of modern optics for "both eyes open" sighting and rapid target acquisition. The stock includes a forward aluminum bedding block and rear aluminum pillar that positively locate the receiver.

Ruger Scout in .350 Legend: details

Front sight is a non-glare protected blade-type, coupled to an adjustable ghost ring rear aperture sight. The free-floating, cold hammer-forged 5-groove barrel is 16.50"/419 mm long, with a matte black finish – the same as the receiver. Bolt is stainless steel. The detachable box magazine with push-forward magazine release just forward of the trigger guard hold 5 rounds. Magazine well and trigger guard are glass-reinforced nylon. The controlled round feed extractor is a non-rotating, Mauser-type for positive case extraction, and features a fixed blade-type ejector.

Ruger Scout Rifle rifle: buttpad
A soft-rubber buttpad with buttpad spacers allows the rifle to be properly sized for different shooters. Length of pull can be adjusted from 12.75" to 14.25" (324-362 mm).

The Scout Rifle in .350 Legend has integral scope mounts, machined directly on the solid-steel receiver, for the mounting of the included scope rings. A soft-rubber buttpad with buttpad spacers allows the rifle to be properly sized for different shooters or varying levels of outerwear. Three, 1/2" spacers are included, so that length of pull can be adjusted from 12.75" to 14.25" (324-362 mm).

Suggested Retail price for the new Ruger Scout Rifle in .350 Legend is 1139 USD.
