New SIG AIR ProForce MCX Virtus airsoft rifle, training at its finest

Not quite your usual BB toy gun: SIG Sauer introduces the new SIG AIR ProForce MCX Virtus airsoft rifle. Modeled after its real steel counterpart, the new AEG (Auto Electric Gun) has been “designed and engineered for professionals and discerning recreational shooters”

In a press release, Matt Handy, Director, SIG AIR, says that “The SIG AIR ProForce MCX Virtus is a very effective, safe training tool for professionals and avid target shooters that replicates the look and feel of its firearm counterpart, making it an ideal option for training in a myriad of environments where live fire is not possible”. “This is an exciting product for SIG AIR because, like the MCX, it’s completely modular and can be easily configured for multiple variations or loadouts based on purpose,” he adds.

The new SIG AIR ProForce MCX Virtus airsoft rifle sports an integrated M-LOK handguard and a full-length Picatinny rail.

According to SIG, “the ProForce MCX brings training to a new level of realism.” The SIG AIR ProForce MCX Virtus airsoft rifle is battery-powered, and runs on a rechargeable battery. Like most modern and refined airsoft rifles, the new addition to SIG's growing AIR Division features an adjustable “hop-up” system that allows for additional BBs stabilization, with increased range and accuracy. A full CNC machined receiver, integrated M-LOK handguard, 3-position telescoping stock, open full-length Picatinny rail for the mounting of sights, 120-round mid-cap magazine and a modular locking accessory mounting system complete the package.

The all-metal receiver is CNC machined.

The SIG AIR ProForce MCX also comes equipped with interchangeable springs for velocity enhancement and has three fire control modes (safe, semi-automatic and automatic). Using 6mm polymer or biodegradable BBs, it can shoot with a velocity up to 370 fps and muzzle energy of 1 joule (using a .20-gram polymer BB.)
