Charter Arms Walker: the new ultra-compact .22 LR and .22 WMR revolver for self-defense

The Charter Arms Walker revolver is designed for concealed carry and personal protection. The cylinder holds eight rounds.

Founded in 1964 and now led by the second generation of the Ecker family, Charter Arms continues to manufacture its entire revolver lineup in the United States at its Shelton, Connecticut facility, maintaining its focus on handguns intended primarily for personal protection.

Charter Arms has expanded its concealed-carry revolver lineup with the new Walker Series, a family of ultra-compact models chambered in the rimfire .22 Long Rifle and .22 Winchester Magnum cartridges. Designed for shooters looking for a lightweight, simple and dependable handgun, the new series combines extremely compact dimensions with an eight-round capacity, positioning it as an option for personal protection, everyday carry and recreational shooting.

The Charter Arms Walker revolver features a lightweight alloy frame and a polymer trigger guard. Shown here is the version with a blue finish.

According to Charter Arms, the new series was developed in response to shooters looking for a .22-caliber revolver that combines concealability, accuracy and reliability. The Walker was designed to deliver consistent performance in a compact handgun that is easy to carry.

The new Charter Arms Walker uses an aluminum-alloy frame, with the barrel and cylinder made of steel and a polymer trigger guard. The action is double-action only (DAO), with a fully enclosed hammer that eliminates external projections and reduces the risk of snagging during the draw. The sights consist of a fixed ramp front sight and a rear notch machined directly into the frame.

The Walker comes standard with compact rubber grips and weighs just 15 ounces, or approximately 425 grams, making it well suited to continuous carry.

The Walker Series will be offered in six variants: three chambered in .22 LR and three in .22 WMR. Finishes include classic black anodizing with Black Passivate-treated stainless-steel components, as well as versions with blue- or pink-anodized frames paired with polished stainless-steel components.

Suggested U.S. retail prices start at approximately $460 and reaches $490, depending on configuration.
