The original Double Safe Hunter is described by the Texan manufacturer as a budget friendly yet high-performing knife. Modeled after Cold Steel's popular old-school Voyager series, it features a wide, 3.5" long clip-point blade. Made of high-carbon 8Cr14MoV stainless steel and treated to 57-58 Rockwell hardness, the Double Safe Hunter is tough, corrosion resistant, and easy to maintain a sharp edge. The thin glass-filled nylon (GFN) handle is ergonomically pleasing and has a steel pocket clip.
The blade is small enough for intricate cutting tasks “yet big enough to skin anything from a mouse to a moose,” according to the claim. Moreover, as the “Safe” in the name implies, these knives are specifically designed to avoid hurting your fingers during manipulation and use thanks to a rocker lock that features a secondary safety mechanism that, when engaged, is particularly resistant to shock and impact.
