The extensive supporting program at IWA OutdoorClassics 2025 has it all. On the stage in Hall 1 alone, there will be 40 presentations over the four days of the trade fair, with a further 30 in the Knife/Blade Demo Area in Hall 5 on issues relating to day-to-day work in the firearms industry, such as firearms and customs law, marketing and vocational training. But also about social issues such as the changing image of shooting sports, which top shooter and "Shooting Expert" Anna Janssen described today in an interview based on her career to date. The likeable 23-year-old student then wandered through the halls with the IWA trade fair team for further photo opportunities, before explaining to the all4shooters.com team at the Carl Walther booth in an interview why she competes with air and rimfire rifles from Walther (see video below).
Today we are also presenting a selection of new firearms from the exhibition halls that have caught the eye of our camera teams. The article will be expanded during the course of the day. The important links to the report from Day 1, the preliminary reports on the IWA and the official trade fair websites can be found at the bottom.
IWA 2025: Svemko, how a silencer works
In Germany, the use of silencers on hunting rifles is permitted, so when visiting IWA Outdoor it is not difficult to come across the stand of some manufacturer of this accessory that for other countries, like Italy, remains a forbidden dream. This is not the place to create controversy, so we will avoid further comments on this ban that seems anachronistic, given that most European countries allow the use of silencers at least for hunting. At the stand of the Norwegian specialist Svemko we saw a sectioned version of the Pure M Quick Mount model, which perfectly showed the internal structure of a silencer. We took the opportunity to shoot a clip in which our correspondent explains in great conciseness the physical principle behind a sound reducer with a conventional structure.
IWA 2025: Interview with top shooter Anna Janssen, the air rifle world record holder at the Carl Walther booth
Three-time European champion Anna Janssen even has her very own limited edition model, the Walther LG500 itec Triple Edition – the air rifle with Anna's autograph on the right side of the stock got its nickname because she won three gold medals at the 2024 European Championships: in the individual, with the German women's team, and together with Maximilian Ulbrich in the air rifle mixed. Incidentally, there are only a few copies of the "Triple Edition" left in stock, so hurry if you are looking for something special. Anna Janssen will be trying to defend her title from last year at the European Championships in Osiek/Croatia in a few days' time. In addition to the flagship LG500 itec BTE with electronic trigger (€5,698) or mechanical trigger (€4,748), the Walther product range now includes three other models with different prices and features: the Walther LG500 Expert (RRP €3,999) also has the Visionic match diopter and two systems for balance and recoil control. The LG500 Competition, available from May 2025 for €2,799 (RRP), is a very good competition air rifle. It has the simpler Insight-Out sight with sighting line elevation and has both an absorber and an adjustable buttstock. The new Walther LG500 Blacktec (RRP €1,999) is suitable as a club rifle or for beginners with the classic system stock, the basic rear sight and a 22-mm front sight tunnel. All models are presented in detail on the redesigned Walther website.
IWA 2025: Adaptable bolt-action rifle in .17 HMR – Savage 93R17 BVXP-SR At-One, complete with scope
IWA 2025 is already the sixth major firearms fair this year after SHOT Show, Jagd & Hund, EOS, British Shooting Show and Enforce Tac, but Savage Arms is still presenting something brand new: the "adaptable" Savage 93R17 BVXP-SR At-One rimfire bolt-action rifle in .17 HMR, which Jens Tigges presented to the camera. The repeater, deliberately equipped with a shorter laminated wood stock, can be extended using spacers and the cheekpiece is height-adjustable. The model comes complete with a 3-9x40 Weaver scope, which is suitable for varmint hunting as well as for shooting training. The 1/2x28 thread for a silencer on the somewhat heavier 21-inch barrel is just as much a part of it as the AccuTrigger, which is considered reliable and precise. Only the European price and delivery date have not yet been finalised. In the US the MSRP is $560.
IWA 2025: Hornady .22 ARC cartridge with top performance, available as CX, ELD-X, ELD-VT and ELD Match for hunting and sports
Hornady introduces another impressive cartridge to the highly efficient ARC family: the .22 ARC (Advanced Rifle Cartridge). As Jens ballistics expert Tigges was able to tell us at the IWA 2025, the cartridge first presented last year has now passed CIP testing and is now available in stores. Despite its small size, it even surpasses the performance of a .22-250 Remington: it fits modern AR-15 actions without any problems and also performs impressively in bolt-action rifles.
Hornady offers four bullet options, three hunting and one sporting: the lead-free CX bullet in .22 ARC, a monolithic deformation bullet, delivers clean fragmentation without splintering, which results in lower meat damage when hunting roe deer, for example. Furthermore, the ELD-X in .22 ARC, a classic deformation hunting bullet from the Precision Hunter line, which is particularly popular in Europe, with controlled mushrooming behaviour and high residual weight – also relatively untypical for a .22 bullet. The .22 ARC range is complemented by the new ELD-VT, a fully fragmenting varminting bullet that is particularly wind-resistant thanks to its extended design. But sportsmen can also enjoy the .22 ARC with maximum precision and BC values in the form of the ELD Match. You can find out more about this in the video, when Jens Tigges talks in detail about the revolutionary measurement methods on which the Hornady Ballistics App is based for its calculations. Even more information on the .22 ARC can be found on the Hornady website.
IWA 2025: Krieghoff K80 “Spirit of the Deep” 2025
As every year, Krieghoff offers a special shotgun in a limited edition and with particularly refined finishes. For 2025, it exhibited a version of the K80 Sporting over-under “Spirit of the Deep” whose theme is the sea depths. Chambered in 12 gauge, the Krieghoff K80 “Spirit of the Deep” has a hand-engraved action with gold and colored inlays; its barrels measure 81 centimeters and mount interchangeable chokes; the trigger is single. The stock in particularly selected wood has an adjustable cheek piece.
IWA 2025: Pulsar Merger LRF XT50
The Pulsar Merger LRF XT50 is the top of the line thermal binoculars from the company. It features an HD sensor, rangefinder and ballistic calculator, capable of indicating the necessary correction clicks or even making the necessary changes automatically, in the case of connected devices. We will be testing it in the field soon.
IWA 2025: F.A.I.R. Safari Prestige and Carrera II Sporting shotguns
Elegance, safety and fast swing are the characteristics sought by hunters who are about to experience hunting adventures that are certainly exciting but not without risk, such as the Safari. In the case of the Safari Prestige over-and-under, F.A.I.R. presents a mechanically rugged shotgun, with a receiver entirely machined from solid tri-alloy steel billets and increased thicknesses to ensure strength and stability when firing. The old silver finish is distinguished by long side plates with deep laser engravings depicting the main wild game of driven hunting, wild boar, roe deer, deer and floral motifs. The express is available in a wide selection of calibers: 8x57JRS, 9.3x74R, .30R Blaser, 30.06, .270 W, .308 W, 6.5×55, .243 W, 7x57R, 6.5x57R.
The monobloc-mounted barrels are 55 cm long. The upper rib is 7 mm, solid type as the side ribs. The rib is optic and red dot ready, and the gun has adjustable metal sights consisting of a rear notch with two green fiber optic inserts and a front sight also featuring a red fiber optic insert. Ejectors are selective long-stroke automatic. The locks feature coiled springs and hammers with double safety mount. The wood used for the Bavarian style stock and Schnabel forend is oil-finished European walnut.
For sporting enthusiasts, the 12-ga F.A.I.R Carrera II over-and-under is a good choice for fun and even continuous training in this shooting discipline. The gun is available with 71- or 76-cm barrels and comes with a set of five Technichoke XP70 70-mm interchangeable internal chokes. The barrels feature F.A.I.R X-Cones with elongated forcing cones for compact patterns on the target and reduced felt recoil on the shooter's shoulder. The vented upper rib is flat, 15mm high, 11-mm wide with anti-glare finish and center line to quickly guide the shooter's eye to the sights and target. The steel receiver is machined from a solid billet and has a silver finish with laser engraving depicting a gold-plated clay pigeon in flight. Trigger system is single selective adjustable XR-Trigger. The stock is oil-finished select walnut with ergonomic Montecarlo sporting design with XR-Stock adjustment system. The recoil pad is made of oil-resistant rubber. The weight of the over-and-under is standard for its category, at less than 3.6 kg.
