Minox X-Pro 8x42 and X-Pro-10x42: the most important details about the new and compact binocular models for hunters and ambitious birdwatchers and nature observers

With the binoculars in the new X-PRO series, Minox aims to impress ambitious hunters as well as discerning nature observers and outdoor enthusiasts. The optics manufacturer based in Wetzlar, Germany, is introducing the new X-Pro binoculars as the successor to the tried-and-tested X-HD model line.

The Minox X-Pro 10x42 (photo) and 8x42 are focused using the center wheel and diopter adjustment is via the ring on the right eyepiece.

With a field of view of up to 154 metres, they should be effective for almost all hunting situations. Close focusing distance is around 1.5 metres, allowing nature lovers to make razor-sharp detailed observations at close range, for example when looking at insects or smaller vertebrates.

Minox has designed the X-PRO binoculars, which are developed and manufactured entirely in Wetzlar, primarily for stalking or longer hikes through the countryside and has therefore deliberately kept them compact. Weighing in at less than 900 grams, they are among the lightest in their class. The housing is protected by rubber armoring and is nitrogen-filled, comfortable to use and pleasant to the touch. It is dustproof in accordance with protection class IP67 and waterproof for at least 30 minutes up to a depth of 1 meter. This makes the binoculars in the new Minox X-PRO series a reliable companion in any weather condition, whether in the woods and fields, in the mountains or on the water. "With the X-PRO series, we are continuing our tradition of combining top optical performance with German engineering," explains Minox CEO Dennis Thiele at the launch of the new binoculars line.

The new Minox X-Pro binoculars have an FMC multi-coating on the ED lenses.

Like its predecessor, the X-HD series, the X-Pro uses modern ED lenses with a reflection-reducing FMC multi-layer coating and, thanks to a light transmission of over 90%, delivers high-contrast, true-color and razor-sharp images right up to the edges, even in difficult lighting conditions.

The scope of delivery of the new X-Pro binoculars includes eyepiece and lens caps, a carrying strap, a case, and a cleaning cloth. For the binoculars in the X-Pro line, Minox offers an extended warranty service of 10 years from the date of purchase on mechanics and optics, excluding wearing parts.

The new Minox binoculars in the X-Pro series are now available from specialist retailers. Minox has a recommended retail price of 870 euros for the X-Pro 8x42 and 890 euros for the X-Pro 10x42.

The new Minox X-Pro binoculars have a nitrogen filling that prevents the lenses from fogging up from the inside and are dust and waterproof in accordance with protection class IP67. Here you can see the X-Pro 8x42 model attached to the included carrying strap.
