New Ruger Security-380 Lite Rack pistol: compact, safe & easy

Lightweight, compact, chambered in .380 Auto, with up to 15 rounds in the magazine and modestly priced – suggested retail price in the U.S. is $369.

There is a vertical ledge on the steel rear sight and a bright fiber-optic front sight for rapid sight picture acquisition.

Sturm, Ruger & Company announces the introduction the newest addition to its Lite Rack family of pistols: the new Security-380 Lite Rack. The gun is constructed around a rigid, precision-machined, hard-coat anodized aluminum chassis with full-length guide rails and features a blued, through-hardened alloy steel slide and barrel.

The Ruger Security-380 Lite Rack features a lightened -slide textured high-performance, glass-filled nylon grip frame with accessory rail.

The distinguishing eye-catchers are the slide lightening cuts. There is also a vertical ledge on the steel rear sight and a bright fiber-optic front sight for rapid sight picture acquisition. The steel rear sight is drift-adjustable.

To help new shooters and people with less hand strength who find racking traditional slides difficult – but also to make things easier for everyone – the Lite Rack system includes refined slide serrations, pronounced cocking ears, and a lighter recoil spring to ensure easy manipulation of the slide.

The gun is hammer-fired, with internal hammer.

Inside the textured high-performance, glass-filled nylon grip frame with accessory rail, magazine capacity of the Rugers' latest micro-compact .380 pistol is huge, with up to 15 rounds with the extended double-stack magazine, or 10 rounds with the flush-fit one. Ruger also claims that the textured grip fills the hand and helps distribute recoil better than a narrow single-stack pistol.

Takedown requires no special tools or trigger pull.

The all-new Security-380 Lite Rack pistol is designed for both hours of range training with minimal fatigue and full comfort for all day carry. Weight is just 19.7 oz/558 g, which also helps.
