Beretta Holding acquires Chapuis Armes

Interesting synergies between Beretta and Chapuis Armes

Chapuis is a French company with a long tradition. It can boast a catalog including shotguns, Express double rifles, the interesting rifle with ROLS proprietary straight-pull action and the manufacturing of the excellent Manurhin revolvers. Now this historic brand becomes part of the Beretta Holding Group, which is interested in preserving traditional gun-making.

Chapuis Armes SAS will be able to develop exports by benefiting from the Beretta Group's distribution network abroad while remaining on the French market with its own distribution network. The synergies in research and development, supplies of raw materials and semi-finished products, engineering, will allow Chapuis to strengthen its market segment.

About Chapuis Armes

Chapuis Armes started producing guns after the Second World War. Previously they worked for third parties.

Chapuis Armes is a family business established after the Second World War, based in Saint Bonnet le Château, in the Loire region, the cradle of French firearms industry. In 2012 Chapuis Arms received the "Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant" (EPV) label. This "living heritage" label is only awarded to companies that combine tradition and innovation.

Vincent and David Chapuis took over the company from René Chapuis, a pioneer in industrial and semi-industrial production of Express rifles in the 1990s. In 1998 the production of the famous Manhurin revolvers was incorporated, and therefore a French brand which is well known in the field of law enforcement and by firearms enthusiasts was maintained.

Chapuis is a brand much appreciated by hunters across the Alps and beyond, thanks to the Express over-unders and side-by-sides, widely used in France for wild boar hunting.

But the French company also means innovation: its straight-pull action ROLS rifle is a brilliant and clever design. With the manufacturing of tailor-made classic luxury weapons, Chapuis serves a clientele that demands the highest standards and at the same time appreciates the great tradition of French firearms production. The synergies between Beretta and Chapuis are therefore very interesting and we will keep you informed on the developments regarding this acquisition.
