Steiner eDiscovery 10x42, new premium binoculars with integrated digital camera

Designed for users who want to observe first and record without interruption, the new Steiner eDiscovery 10x42 binoculars allow photos and video to be captured – and shared – directly through the optics, with no need to switch to a separate camera or smartphone. Since the camera module is discreetly incorporated into the optical system, the eDiscovery 10x42 also keeps the familiar shape, balance, and handling expected from traditional full-size binoculars.

Steiner eDiscovery 10x42 binoculars: observe, capture, share

In the Steiner eDiscovery 10x42 binoculars the main functions can be controlled directly with only two buttons.

At the optical core are 10x magnification and 42-mm objective lenses, a versatile configuration for hunting, wildlife observation, travel, and general outdoor use. The binoculars deliver a stable, detailed image at distance, while Steiner’s rugged construction makes the eDiscovery 10x42  suitable for demanding field conditions. The rubber-armored NBR (Nitrile Butadiene Rubber) housing provides a secure grip and added protection, and the IP67 rating ensures resistance to dust, rain, and temporary immersion.

The digital side of the eDiscovery is built for practical use in the field. Still images can be captured at 13 megapixels in single or four-burst mode, while video can be recorded in 4K, 2.7K, or 1080P resolutions, allowing users to preserve observations with a high level of detail. Files are saved to a 64 GB memory card, and the USB-C interface enables straightforward transfer to a computer.

Connectivity is handled through the Steiner Connect 2.0 app, which links the binoculars to a smartphone or tablet via Wi-Fi. From the app, users can view, download, edit and manage captured content directly on a mobile device. The system also supports live transmission of the binoculars’ point of view to up to five connected devices, making it useful for shared observation, guided outings, training sessions, or documenting activity in real time.

Steiner has kept operation intentionally simple. The main capture functions can be controlled directly on the binoculars with only two buttons, while the app provides expanded control when needed. Remote capture functionality is also available, which is especially useful when the binoculars are mounted on a tripod and physical contact could disturb the image.

Additional field-oriented features include an internal display for status and menu information, tripod-mount compatibility, an integrated reticle for horizontal alignment, and continuous video recording in 15-minute segments. Power is supplied by a rechargeable 18650 Li-ion battery, with an operating time of more than three hours when the display is active.
