The metal components used by the Norwegian silencer manufacturer Hausken in the production of silencers have always been selected and joined together according to their specific properties. Aluminum, for example, is lighter than the steel used in the past, is easier to shape and is also cheaper. In the well-known and frequently used Hausken Jakt JD224 Ti Hybrid Titan silencer, a titanium core sits in a reinforced and hard anodised aluminum housing tube.
The manufacturer is now launching the first silencer model made entirely from titanium, which is why it is also known as the Hausken Jakt JD224 FTi (for Full Titanium). The Jakt series is generally the most comprehensive model range at Hausken, with a variety of diameters, lengths and – depending on the model – colors and available in both on-barrel and over-barrel designs.

Hausken claims a sound pressure level reduction of 31 dB, both with the stronger magnum calibers and with longer shot strings. The metal properties of the titanium material are also noticeable in the durability, which in turn justifies the higher price compared to other suppressors without titanium.
The Hausken JD224 FTi has the same external dimensions as the JD224 MKII and JD224 XTRM MKII models (200-mm long, 50 mm in diameter and only 140-mm longer than the muzzle thanks to the over-barrel design). However, at 507 grams, the FTi weighs considerably more: the JD224 Ti Hybrid weighs 463 g, the MKII is 300 g and the 224 XTRM MKII with steel mesh weighs 360 g.
However, according to the manufacturer, the slightly higher weight at the muzzle improves balance, which should make it particularly suitable for driven hunts or in shooting cinemas. The maximum external rifle barrel diameter is 23 mm, the maximum caliber is 9.3 mm (.360), and the FTi suppressor is fitted with an M18x1 thread. The latest Hausken silencer is currently only available with a black titanium housing. The JD224 FTi is available in these caliber variants: .30 (order number 243 42 80), .32 (order number 243 42 81 .32), .338 (order number 243 42 82) and .360 (order number 243 42 83).
