Another Spectre in the family: new SIG P365XL Spectre Comp

“All the benefits of a compensated pistol in a reliable, concealable, everyday carry package,” they claim at SIG: the new P365XL Spectre Comp actually offers a uniquely integrated compensator that, according to the manufacturer, reduces muzzle flip and felt recoil by up to 30%.

The P365XL Spectre Com uses the laser stippled XSERIES (LXG) module.

But let's start from the beginning. The Spectre family of pistols is the flagship of SIG Custom Works polymer lineup, featuring exclusive details such as laser stippled grip modules, Titanium Nitride (TIN) gold barrels and triggers, and custom-designed slides.

The complete Spectre series of pistols already includes the P320 XCARRY Spectre, P320 XCOMPACT Spectre, and the P365XL Spectre. Now comes the P365XL Spectre Comp  too. The micro-compact P365 was introduced by SIG in early 2018, and in 2019 they released the P365 XL model that combines the capacity, control, and shootability of a full-size pistol frame with the concealability of a compact gun

SIG P365XL Spectre Comp, less recoil and muzzle flip

The titanium nitride gold coating on the barrel and the XSERIES trigger is not just a nice aesthetic accent, but effectively reduces friction.

The latest addition to the Spectre family, the SIG Custom Works P365XL Spectre Comp, is a 9mm micro-compact polymer frame pistol featuring the laser stippled XSERIES (LXG) grip module, an optics-ready slide with custom serrations featuring an optic plate and rear dovetail sight, a titanium nitride gold barrel and XSERIES gold trigger, and X-RAY 3 day/night sights. The TIN gold coating on the barrel and the flat-faced trigger is not just a nice aesthetic accent, but effectively reduces friction.

The P365XL Spectre Comp's slide is optics-ready, but the gun also comes standard with X-RAY 3 day/night sights.

As already noted above, the real standout feature of the P365XL Spectre Comp is its integrated compensator: two ports cut into the  front top of the slide (in addition to side window cuts) and the rearward positioned front sight indicate its presence. The fact that the compensator is not attached to the barrel but is integrated into the slide means that it will never come loose or cause function issues. Thanks to this cutting edge technology, it results in less recoil and an enhanced shooting experience in a micro-compact pistol.

For an MSRP of around $1299, the SIG Custom Works P365XL Spectre Comp ships with two 12-round steel magazines (10-round magazines are available too) and comes with a Limited-Edition SIG Custom Works case, coin, and certificate of authenticity.
