Plinking in a compact form? With the new TX 22 Compact, Taurus offers a small and handy version of its successful TaurusTX 22 series, still delivering “class leading reliability, capacity, and shootability” in a .22 LR platform.

The TaurusTX22 Compact is a polymer-framed gun with an aluminum slide featuring generous lightening cuts.

Taurus introduced the striker-fired TX22 pistol back in 2019 they claiming it as “the most advanced 22 LR pistol on the market”. 

All TaurusTX 22 Compact pistols are optics ready from the factory, with a footprint that matches the Shield RMSc and Holosun K optics.

Like the original full-size model, the new TaurusTX 22 Compact features a black polymer frame and a hard anodized black aluminum slide, but reduced in size, with an overall length of 6.7”/170 mm instead of 7.06”/179 mm, a height of 4.9”/124 mm instead of 5.44”/138 mm, and weighing unloaded 16.5 oz/468 g (the fill size TX22 is 17.3 oz/490 g). The slide also sports generous lightening cuts. 

The TX22 comes with the Taurus Performance Trigger System. Manual safety is double sided.

Barrel length is 3.6”/91 mm (instead of 4.1”/104 mm). Compared to its larger siblings with 16-round staggered column magazines, capacity in the  TaurusTX 22 Compact is 3 rounds less, at 13. The TX22 Compact still offers an accessory rail, a threaded barrel, and a fixed white dot front sight coupled to a drift adjustable serrated rear sight. It also comes with the single-action Taurus Performance Trigger System for fast, accurate shots. Moreover, all TaurusTX 22 Compact pistols are optics ready from the factory, with a footprint that matches the Shield RMSc and Holosun K optics.

Besides the customary trigger safety, the TX22 includes a manual safety and a striker block. The intended use is basically leisure shooting at the range, even if Taurus suggests Steel Challenge competition, or even personal protection – in the latter case, careful ammunition choice in terms of effectiveness and reliability is paramount, of course.
