Taurus updates the Judge revolver series

Taurus updates the Judge revolver
The new Taurus Judge with 6.5 barrel and duo tone finish. Upgrades include a drift-adjustable rear sight and a redesigned grip.

Time flies. Twenty years have already passed since Taurus changed the revolver landscape with the launch of the Judge, a handgun that rapidly became one of the most recognizable – and most discussed – wheelguns in the firearms industry.

Today, two decades after its debut, the Taurus Judge enters a new chapter, with a series of functional and aesthetic updates designed for the modern shooter.

The concept remains the same: a highly versatile double action/single action five-shot revolver capable of chambering both .45 Colt cartridges and .410 bore shotshells.

The matte black variant of the new Taurus Judge with 3” barrel. Cylinder capacity is five rounds of .410 shotshells or .45 Colt.

Taurus originally promoted the Judge as a self-defense tool against carjacking and for home protection. The latest generation preserves the proven dual-caliber DNA while refining the platform where it matters. Taurus has equipped the new Judge with a drift-adjustable rear sight paired with a fiber-optic front sight, offering a clearer, faster sight picture and allowing the revolver to be better tuned to the shooter’s preferred load. The grip has been redesigned for improved control and handling, while the hammer has been re-profiled and reworked for a more contemporary look and enhanced usability.

The new Judge also features a stainless-steel barrel housed in an aluminum shroud, a solution that contributes to durability while keeping the revolver practical and well balanced. Cylinder is alloy steel. Capacity remains five rounds, with chambering for both .410 shotshells and .45 Colt thanks to the 2.5”/63.5 mm chambers, reinforcing the model’s long-standing reputation for flexibility across a broad range of shooting applications.

The new Taurus Judge will be offered with either a 3-inch (76 mm) or 6-inch (152 mm) barrel, allowing shooters to choose between a more compact configuration and a longer-barreled variant with an extended sight radius, and in matte black or duo-tone finish options.

MSRPs in the US range from $699.99 for the black 3” version, up to $719.99 for the duo-tone version with 6.5” barrel.
