Taurus G3 and G3c TORO, the new “Taurus Optic Ready Option” pistols

An ingenious interchangeable plate mounting system: this is how Taurus introduces its all-new TORO (Taurus Optic Ready Option) platform, available for the full-size Taurus G3 and the compact Taurus G3c pistols.

The G3 TORO is the full-size version, featuring a 4”/101 mm barrel.

The TORO system (“Toro”, by the way, in Spanish and Italian means the same as “Taurus”, i.e. “bull” in English) consists of four interchangeable red dot mounting plates that give you the ability to easily outfit the optics-ready Taurus G3 or G3c with a variety of popular brands. According to the manufacturer, “The exclusive TORO platform is seamlessly integrated into the slide of both pistols, enabling faster target acquisition and follow-up shots”.

Four different mounting plates, along with four different sets of screws and L-Key are included with the G3 TORO and G3c TORO each with a different mounting pattern that is specific to common aftermarket optics.

Plate 1:

The G3c is the compact version
The G3c is the compact version, with a 3.26”/83 mm barrel.

We already introduced the full-size G3 pistol in 2019. It's a polymer-framed, striker-fired 9mm pistol designed for everyday carry. Features include stippling patches across the grip for maximum control and retention in any shooting condition, an ergonomic palm swell and side-frame Memory Pads that provide quick, positive, and repeatable hand positioning, a frame-integrated Picatinny rail and a loaded chamber view port for easy gun status checks.

Standard sights consist of a fixed front blade (white dot) and a drift-adjustable serrated steel rear sight. But thanks to the interchangeable plate mounting system, the G3 TORO and G3c TORO now offer a much more flexible optic-ready platform. Both guns come from the factory with a steel slide cover plate to provide a "clean" slide surface when employing the installed open sights. Prices are to be communicated.
