Stoeger STR-45 Combat, new duty- and competition-ready .45 pistol

A part of the Beretta Group, the Turkish manufacturer Stoeger has been making a name for itself in the last years with its reliable and affordable polymer-framed pistols in 9mm and .45 ACP calibers, namely the STR-9 and STR-45 series. The newly introduced STR-45 Combat is no exception: engineered for duty, defense, and competition use, it's a feature-rich full-size .45 ACP handgun offered at a fair price that, in the US, is $649. Stoeger STR-45 Combat, larger capacity and longer barrel

The STR-45 Combat is built on the same full-size frame of the standard STR-45 model, which means that it comes with a high-traction grip and undercut trigger guard, plus interchangeable small, medium, and large backstraps for customizable fit, ideal ergonomics and improved performance. The frame with the usual front accessory rail runs flush to the end of the slide, providing ample space for mounting a tactical light or laser. The slide is optic-ready and includes four mounting plates to accommodate popular optic footprints.

What the Combat version adds is increased capacity, a longer threaded barrel, high-visibility suppressor-height fiber-optic sights and an enlarged magwell for fast reloads.

In order: while the standard STR-45 uses 13-round magazines, the Combat model has a 16+1 round capacity – three 16-round magazines are included. The larger round count allows for extended shooting sessions and defensive confidence.

The barrel is now 5.18”/132 mm long to better take advantage of what the .45 ACP. offers and is threaded .578x28 for suppressor use (a thread protector is included).

The rear sight is fully adjustable for precise windage and elevation adjustments and pairs with the front post to deliver a crisp, fast-acquiring sight picture.

The slide has an enhanced nitride-hardened matte black surface treatment for superior wear resistance and long-term corrosion protection
