Last year, Kahles used the SHOT Show to present the K328i/K328i DLR (Dynamic Long Range) 3.5-28x50 riflescope live to the general public for the first time. The K328i set new standards in sports shooting thanks to the sum of its features combined with a gigantic field of view, as this all4shooters.com report on the K328i and K328i DLR makes clear. With this scope, the company successfully launched a new era of high-performance optics. For the first time in the history of Kahles, a completely new platform has been developed that is specially tailored to the needs of long range sports shooters. Kahles is now following up in this segment and is once again using the SHOT Show as the first of the major spring trade fairs to present the new K540i with 8x zoom, a magnification of 5x to 40x and a 56-mm objective lens diameter live in front of an international trade audience for the first time. The all4shooters.com team already had the opportunity to get a first practical impression of the new Kahles K540i. Read on to find out what it looks like.
Technical details of the new 2025 models Kahles K540i and Kahles 540i DLR: 50% more field of view and much more...

The most outstanding feature of the two Kahles K540i variants, which weigh 1,110 g and are 408 mm long, is their extremely large field of view (for such optics), which at 25x magnification is 40% larger than that of the previous flagship model, the Kahles K525i. The main tube diameter is 36 mm. The eyebox of the new K540i riflescopes is also very generously dimensioned compared to other long-range scopes, even at 40x magnification. As with all Kahles K models, thanks to the parallax adjustment integrated into the elevation adjustment turret (20 m to infinity), the customer has the choice of having the windage adjustment in the left or right turret. Or in other words, whether the control for the infinitely dimmable illumination of the reticle arranged in the 1st focal plane should be positioned in the left or right turret. What both solutions have in common is the Kahles TWIST GUARD anti-twist protection on the adjustment turrets and the center tube diameter of 36 mm.

The main difference between the K540i and the K54i DLR can be found in and on the elevation adjustment turret: the K540i has 160 clicks per revolution and the K540i DLR 100 clicks per revolution, also featuring the extra-large Easy Read lettering that makes reading and adjustment easier, especially in competitions where a fast time is required. The turrets each work with an adjustment of 0.1 mrad, which corresponds to 1 cm at a distance of 100 metres. The maximum adjustment range in elevation is 290 cm at a distance of 100 metres and 120 cm in windage at a distance of 100 metres. While the buyer can choose between CW (clockwise) or CCW (counter-clockwise) for the direction of rotation of the K540i, the K540i DLR is only available in the "Counter-Clockwise" (CCW) version. And there is another difference to mention here: the K540i is available with the AMR, MSR2/Ki and SKMR4+ reticles and the K540i DLR with the SKMR+ and SKMR4+ reticles.
