GLOCK Watch Chrono: quality, precision and durability in a strictly limited edition

The serial numbering on the back of the GLOCK Watch Chrono
The serial numbering on the back of the GLOCK Watch Chrono makes each chronograph unique.

The GLOCK Watch Chrono is the result of a two-year design and development phase and obviously bears the iconic features of the world-famous GLOCK pistol: “The serrations on the slide of the pistol were taken over into the design and embossed into the titanium housing. The crown of the watch stylizes the primer on the back of a cartridge.

The black mesh strap gives the watch a modern and elegant touch and lies particularly comfortably on the wrist. With the yellow silicone strap, which is also included in the set, the chronograph can also be worn for leisure and sports. This special watch strap has the familiar structure of a GLOCK pistol frame of the latest generation.”

The GLOCK Watch Chrono comes in the original pistol case
The GLOCK Watch Chrono comes in the original pistol case in the anniversary color yellow with a certificate of authenticity, a GLOCK P80 collector's coin, and two straps (a matte black milanaise with pressed clasp closing and a yellow silicone band with pin buckle closing ).

The GLOCK Watch Chrono is solar charged: thanks to a solar panel in the dial, any source of light will actually recharge it and the running time is 6‐12 months when fully charged.

The anniversary watch features a hard, crystal-clear and scratch-resistant sapphire glass and is water-resistant up to 10 ATM.

Thanks to intensive product testing, the chronograph stands for the values of quality, precision and durability. The innovative interchangeable wrist band system allows you to easily change your look by changing colors. According to the manufacturer, “the GLOCK P80 anniversary watch has successfully passed all tests for corrosion resistance, extreme temperatures, water tightness, vibration and scratch resistance”.

Which is exactly what you can expect from a company whose motto is “Make it simple, make it perfect!”.

GLOCK P80-G17, a success story of a pistol from the 1980s

the GLOCK P80/G17 pistol
Where it all started: the GLOCK P80/G17 pistol.

It all started in the early 1980s, when the Austrian Ministry of Defense was looking for a new service pistol, which it designated as “Pistole 80”, or“P80”. Gaston Glock had never previously designed a pistol, but with with a team of capable designers analyzed the pistols on the market and in record time developed a revolutionary gun by creating new approaches to pistol design and manufacturing processes. The new pistol was composed of just 33 parts, used a Browning tilting barrel action, was striker-fired, had a polymer frame, and featured the now famous Safe Action System that rendered obsolete the external manual safety.

In March 1982 Gaston Glock submitted his prototypes B1 to B5 in 9mm caliber to the Austrian Armed Forces. The gun triumphed in the technical tests and emerged as the clear winner, being adopted as the P80. Between 1982 and 1984, more than 25,000 Gen1 pistols were delivered to the Austrian Armed Forces. Other military and police forces soon expressed interest in the innovative pistol, that was renamed as the GLOCK 17.

The rest is today's story: now in its fifth generation, the 20 millionth GLOCK pistol was sold in 2020.
