Hornady Precision Hunter Ammunition Line

The new Hornady .300 Precision Rifle Cartridge (PRC) promises great performance over long ranges.
The headstamp of the new .300 PRC.

After the extremely successful Hornady 6.5 Creedmoor rifle caliber, the young .300 Precision Rifle Cartridge (PRC) is to write the next success story. According to reports, US military personnel are also interested in this powerful .30 caliber long-range magnum cartridge. Hornady offers the .300 PRC with the motto "makes long range, mid-range" as a match ammunition with 225 grains with ELD bullet and as Precision Hunter hunting ammunition with 212 grains ELD-X bullet. Based on the .755 Ruger case, the .300 PRC is beltless, features a 30 degree shoulder and is designed to fit within a standard magnum bolt face. First and foremost, it is likely to be seen as a competitor to the .300 Norma Magnum, which is also popular in U.S. military and in long range circles. The .300 PRC / 225 grains Match load will reach a speed of about 865 m/s from a 24 "/ 610 mm barrel.

In the Precision Hunter ammunition series with the aerodynamically designed ELD-X bullet, which is also convincing in terms of terminal ballistics, the following new calibers will be available in 2019:

  • 243 WIN 90 GR ELD-X
  • 28 Nosler 162 ELD-X
  • 7MM STW 162 GR ELD-X
  • 300 RSAUM 178 GR ELD-X
  • 300 PRC 212 GR ELD-X

Hornady: new equipment & tools for reloaders

The Magnum Digital Vibratory Tumbler.

The Magnum Digital Vibratory Tumbler is a large, modern cleaning device that cleans and polishes large quantities of brass. The capacity is up to 600 .38 Special cases or 250 .30-06 Springfield cases. Thanks to its vibratory action, the removal of all particles and residues will make the equipment such as presses and dies operate more smoothly during reloading.

With the cleverly designed Digital Cases & Parts Dryer you can dry cleaned cases and gun parts on five trays at the same time. The range of equipment and tools for reloaders is rounded off by two measuring tools in the form of a standard micrometer for objects and bullets  with a size of up to 1 in / 25.4 mm and a "Vernier Ball" micrometer, which is ideal for accurate measurement of case neck thicknesses.

In addition, there is a new primer pocket reamer/deburring tool to achieve particularly clean, uniform primer pockets on the cases of hand-loaded cartridges.
