All4shooters readers already know the Winchester SXP, a somewhat basic pump-action shotgun that meets almost all needs of hunters, sports shooters, law enforcement and average citizens looking for a reliable pump-action shotgun for home defense.
At IWA 2018 Winchester introduced an especially aggressive looking model in 12 Magnum ga, aptly named XTRM Defender. Featuring a pistol grip, the new shotgun comes in two versions, both of which are also available with a rifled barrel for shooting slugs with more accuracy. The two main version are the SXP XTRM Defender Adjustable 46 and the SXP XTRM Defender High Capacity 51.
SXP XTRM Defender, Adjustable and High Capacity versions
The first version stands out for its long stock with adjustable cheek-piece, plus a Picatinny rail for a scope with an integrated ghost ring rear sight. The 46 in / 117mm barrel is tipped with a very tactical door breacher muzzlebrake. This device enables the shotgun muzzle to be placed into the door frame without rupturing the barrel by providing some venting through the muzzle brake slots.
The tubular magazine has a capacity of 5 rounds, plus one in the chamber.
The SXP XTRM Defender High Capacity 51 has a longer 51 in / 129 mm barrel and magazine, with a total capacity of eight shots (7+1). The stock is different too, with two interchangeable cheek-pieces and four inserts so as to easily adapt to the user's build.
As said, both this versions are available with rifled barrels too.
Prices are 584 euro for the SXP XTRM Defender Adjustable 46 (698 euro with rifled barrel) and 466 euro for the SXP XTRM Defender High Capacity 51 (598 euro with rifled barrel).
