New Girsan MC 14 T tip-up pistol released by EAA

European American Amory Corporation, a Florida-based company that's the leading importer of European firearms in the U.S., announced that it will import the new .380 MC 14 T by Girsan, a “tip-up” design thanks to which no slide racking is required for loading and firing, making it the ideal gun in particular for less strong users such as women, elderly people, or anyone who has difficulty in manipulating a pistol slide.

Frame of the Girsan MC 14 T is aluminum, slide and barrel are steel.

To load the pistol you just have to push the tip up lever downward: the barrel pops up, and all you need to do is take a round, make sure the safety is on, insert the round into the chamber, and push the barrel down until you hear a positive click.

The Girsan MC 14 T features an ambidextrous manual safety. Magazine capacity is 13 rounds.

Now you can drop the safety and you can fire in double action mode. You can also carry the gun cocked and locked (“condition one”), so that you can fire it in single action.

Since you have inserted an additional round in the chamber, you still have a full magazine ready. If you want to unload the gun, e.g. for storage, simply activate the tip-up lever and remove the chambered round.

The video below fully explains how the tip-up design works.

Girsan  MC 14 T, an easy-to-use pistol from Turkey

To load the  Girsan MC 14 T you just have to push the tip up lever downward: the barrel pops up and you can insert a round into the
chamber.

Girsan is a Turkish company active since 1994. In its catalog you can find several pistol series, some based on the 1911 platform, some based on original designs, and others clearly inspired by Beretta models. The MC 14 T is actually inspired by former Beretta tip-up designs too – the single-stack model 86 in particular – but is a double-stack compact pistol chambered in .380 ACP with a 13+1 capacity. With a  focus on ease of use and high capacity, the MC 14 T is very simple and quick. The tip-up barrel, external ambidextrous safety, external hammer and auto firing pin block, together with a double action-single action trigger, also make the pistol quite safe and intuitive to carry and manipulate. Its size allows for comfortable concealed carry. The 4.5″/115 mm barrel and slide are steel, while frame is aluminum.

“With the MC 14 T we wanted a handgun that was not only small and compact but also allowed people that may have issues with racking a slide the ability to carry.” said Chase Duffey, National Sales & Import Manager at EAA Corp. “Small enough for a purse, easy to load, and carries 13 in the magazine… it really is the perfect defensive pistol.”

The Girsan MC 14 T has carries an MSRP that in the U.S. starts at $498.
