A pistol “Born from sport, tailored for EDC” that combines “the practical features with the shooting comfort of a sport pistol, together with the utmost attention to safety”: the new 9mm CZ Shadow 2 Carry has been officially presented.
The original CZ Shadow 2 has been a well-established success for some time now – it's used by 65% of the top international shooters in the IPSC Production and Production Optics divisions including nine-time IPSC World Champion and Ambassador for the CZ Shadow 2 family, Eric Grauffel.
Then in 2023 came the CZ Shadow 2 Compact that was designed primarily as a defensive gun and with concealed carry in mind, to show that the Shadow 2 series was not just a competition beast. Now, the CZ Shadow 2 Carry takes the best of two worlds in the form of a compact sporty gun that is also geared for everyday carry, or EDC for short.

It must remember that the Shadow family still descends from the legendary CZ 75 pistol of the 1970s, one of the original and most influential "wonder nines". This means that we have a double-action trigger-mechanism and excellent ergonomics – the grip angle and shape, in particular, that allow for excellent shooting comfort. The new Shadow 2 Carry refines that concept and takes it a step further, also thanks to a smooth and crisp trigger combined with easily accessible, holster-friendly controls. Still in terms of comfort, CZ has also given the “Carry” an enlarged and easier-to-grip slide stop. With an empty magazine, the compact 4” pistol weighs around 900 g. Its dimensions (LxWxH) are 191 mm x 35 mm x 138 mm.
A carry gun must be not only comfortable, but also safe: CZ stresses the safety features of the Shadow 2 Carry, that include a decocker, a safety notch on the hammer, and an automatic firing pin block. Magazine provides a reassuring 15-round capacity, enough for any defense scenario.
And what about optics readiness? In the CZ Shadow 2 Carry you can mount red dots directly on the slide without any mounting plates, so that the standard fixed sights are retained as backup and co-witness with your reflex sight. Moreover, thanks to this system, the optic also "sits" closer to the barrel axis, for better accuracy and more instinctive aiming. Red dot sights with the Shield RMSc or Holosun K footprint can be easily fitted.
Barrel is cold-hammer forged and comes with a lifetime warranty against manufacturing defects and loss of precision. The frame is machined from forged EN AW-T 7075 6 aluminum alloy for maximum durability and light weight.
