New reflex sights from Sightmark: Element Mini Solar and Volta Solar with solar cells and long battery life

The new Sightmark Element Mini Solar hits the mark with the innovative "Eclipse" light management system

Sightmark Element Mini Solar
The namesake solar cells sit in a narrow strip on top of the Sightmark Element Mini Solar housing.

Sightmark's new Element Mini Solar red dot sight is especially reliable and features long battery life in operation thanks to the combination of solar cells and a single CR2032 battery. Sightmark speaks of up to 200,000 hours of operation. Moreover, in critical situations the brightness of the reticle does not have to be adjusted first, because the innovative Eclipse light management system adjusts it based on given light conditions of the surroundings. The 3 MOA red dot can be adjusted in 10 settings.

The red dot sight impresses with good detail solutions, such as a hinged battery door and protected adjustment caps that also serve as a tool for windage and elevation adjustment. Why is a hinged battery door an advantage? Quite simply, if the unit does run out of power, it allows you to change the battery without disassembling the optic – saving you from having to re-zero your gun. The objective lens of the single magnification red dot sight has a diameter of 22 millimeters. With the lightweight aluminum alloy housing, it comes to only 5.5 oz/156 grams in weight. The scope of delivery includes a low Picatinny mount for shotguns and many rifles as well as a high mount for AR-15 firearms. The Element Mini Solar is certainly a good choice in the usual good Sightmark quality.

Sightmark Volta Solar – up to 400,000 hours of battery life

New reflex sights Sightmark Volta Solar
With up to 400,000 hours of operation, will you ever need to change the batteries on the Sightmark Volta Solar?

The Sightmark Volta Solar offers even more battery life, doubling the operating time to up to 400,000 hours. For this purpose, this mini red dot uses two AAA batteries instead of one CR2032 battery. This and the fully enclosed rugged construction naturally increase the weight compared to the Element Mini Solar, which at only 7.3 oz/207 grams is still less than many comparable products.

Combined with the scratch-resistant 28x28 millimeter objective lens and enclosed aluminum housing, the Sightmark Volta Solar is also suitable for use in the harshest conditions. The Volta Solar also features ten-level Eclipse automatic brightness control and stays on even without batteries when light falls on the solar cell. A rubber cover, low mount for shotguns and rifles, and a higher AR mount are included with the Volta Solar.
