Enter Aimpoint's first sight featuring a selectable Multi-Reticle (MR) system: the Swedish pioneer company in the field of red dots (read the full story here) has just announced its new Duty RDS MR. Multi-Reticle system means that you can switch between a 2 MOA dot, a 65 MOA circle, or both combined. The other highlight of the latest red dot from Aimpont is the Motion Activation: the sight powers on instantly when moved and conserves battery with automatic sleep mode.
Aimpoint Duty RDS MR, durability and flexibility
Designed for law enforcement, professional users and competitive shooters, thanks to its pressure forged aluminum housing the Duty RDS MR is waterproof down to 25 meters and resistant to shock and vibration. The sight offers 12 brightness settings (including 4 night vision compatible) and is powered by a single CR2032 battery placed in a side-loading battery compartment – the manufacturer claims that a battery can deliver up to 3 years of continuous use with setting 7.
Aimpoint stresses in particular the durability and flexibility of its latest product: on one hand, the recessed lenses and rugged housing protect optics from impact and debris (the sight comes equipped with flip-up lens covers); on the other hand, the reticle can be adapted to the mission giving shooters rapid target acquisition at close range and precise aiming at distance. Elevation and windage turrets provide tactile, audible clicks for precise zeroing, while the push buttons allows easy adjustment of brightness settings – the flush-mounted design prevents accidental changes in the field.
Characterized by a compact footprint, the Duty RDS MR is delivered with fixed mount for Picatinny rail: ready for duty out of the box. The package includes one CR2032 battery, one-piece torsion nut mount, an Allen T10 wrench (Torx), and flip-up lens covers (front black / solid and rear transparent).
