Report: At the end of May, more than 1,000 shooters from 51 countries competed at the first IPSC PCC / Mini Rifle World Shoot in Znojmo – The official "Match Ammo" came from GECO

From 18 to 25 May 2025, the first IPSC World Championship for PCC (Pistol Caliber Carbine) and Mini Rifle (.22 LR) took place in Znojmo, Czech Republic. Over 1,000 shooters from 51 nations competed against each other in 60 stages on two extensive shooting ranges (Hodonice and Oblekovice) – and GECO was right in the thick of it instead of just being there.

The 2025 IPSC PCC / Mini Rifle World Shoot was a global sporting event with tolerance, respect and a strong response

Whether it was the USA, the Philippines, Germany or Brazil – the World Shoot united nations, large and small. Even countries such as Papua New Guinea, Pakistan and Sri Lanka were represented. In addition to individual rankings, the program also included team rankings with four starters per nation and even a family ranking, in which the father usually competed with his son – a strong sign of the team spirit within the IPSC community. In the end, the exceptional French IPSC pistol shooter Eric Grauffel and his son Robin came out on top in the Family Teams in the PCC division. Another shooter who has been world-famous for decades can also be found at the top of the results lists: US top shooter Jerry Miculek was able to secure victory in the PCC Optics Grand Senior category. You can find the other match results for all categories at the link at the end of this article.

Former champion Jerry Miculek travelled with the USPSA team from the United States to the first IPSC PCC / Mini Rifle World Shoot in Znojmo, Czech Republic. The US team won a total of 10 gold medals and Miculek secured the gold medal in the PCC Optics Grand Senior Category.

The ceremonial opening on the historic market square in Znojmo was certainly an emotional highlight. With a parade through the town, a flag parade, music and a medieval show, the spirit of the event was impressively staged. However, the final award ceremony after the competitions must have been just as emotional for many participants.

  • 9mm Luger Special Selection for the PCC discipline

Both product lines proved their outstanding precision and reliability under the challenging conditions – changeable weather with 10 °C to 20 °C, daily three-shift operation, distances of up to 80 metres.

GECO team shooter Luis Ehrhardt accompanied the event as a technical expert and match reporter. His task was to provide technical support on site, liaise with the international athletes and observe the dynamics of the competition, not least of course to gain valuable insights for the manufacturer for the continuous further development of its ammunition. At the GECO information and service stand, participants were able to talk directly to the top German IPSC shooter, give feedback and receive support in a practical, solution-orientated and partnership-based manner, i.e. at eye level.

As with all IPSC competitions, safety is the top priority at the  2025 IPSC PCC / Mini Rifle World Shoot. When the gun is not on the stage, a safety flag will signal from afar that there is no round in the chamber.
