The ergonomics of the rifle determine the success in the hunt. An old rule of thumb is that a hunting rifle can only shoot as well as its stock allows. The latter is therefore the decisive element for a safe shot and a better hunt. The Jaeger EVO bolt-action rifle combines what is perhaps the best synthetic stock in the mid-price segment "Made in Germany" with a classic action.
Opinions on bolt-action hunting rifles are divided: there are those who favor the classic bolt-action and those who are more appreciative of the straight-pull rifles that are now much more popular than they used to be. The idea behind the EVO rifle was to combine a classic bolt action with a stock that offers the ergonomic advantages that were previously mostly reserved for fast shooting with straight-pull rifles. The Haenel Jaeger rifle is currently available in .30-06 Springfield (1:11" twist rate) / .308 Winchester (1:12") / 8x57IS (1:9.4") and .300 Winchester Magnum (1:11).

The composite stock sets a new standard
The polymer composite stock of the new rifle sets a new standard in its class: design features include a push-button adjustable comb and interchangeable butt plates in different thicknesses for adjusting LOP (length of pull) to the length of the hunter's arm or the season (i.e. clothing thickness). The fore-end is adapted to the anatomy of the gripping hand and meets the requirements of different grip preferences, hand sizes and arm lengths. Last but not least, two-component soft-touch surfaces on the pistol grip and fore-end make the stock easy to grip in all weather conditions. And the Jaeger EVO combines this stock with the unsurpassed reliability of a bolt-action with three locking lugs and the classic three-position safety: all the way forward, action is unlocked. Middle position: firing pin secured, but the chamber can be opened for loading and unloading. All the way back: bolt and firing pin locked. The cocking status can be checked thanks to a tactile and visual indicator protruding from the rear of the action.
Jaeger EVO, an ergonomically optimized and handy all-rounder
For Marius Vollath, Haenel's new sales and marketing manager, the EVO is the all-rounder among rifles:"With this stock, it is simply universally applicable and thus combines conventional hunting from a hide with the option of stalking and driven hunts," he says. The action of the Haenel Jaeger EVO is the same as that used in the LR/ONE precision rifle; so, it offers everything you need for accurate shooting. The rest is a combination of Haenel virtues: the rifle has a cold-hammer forged barrel made in Suhl and was developed for the demands of law enforcement (precision, durability). For standard calibers, the barrel is 520 millimeters long, while in .300 Winchester Magnum it is 620 millimeters long.
As standard, the rifle comes with no sights, but the Picatinny mounting rail milled into the action allows for any type of optic to be fitted with the guarantee of maximum ease and solidity of the assembly. The Jaeger EVO rifle is however prepared as standard for the iSight system, which allows for flexible use of open sights (optional). The M15x1 muzzle thread is also available as standard, so that users can mount a silencer (where permitted by local laws) or a muzzle brake.
