“Nothing is created, nothing is destroyed, everything is transformed”: the principle applies not only to chemistry, but to guns as well. Ruger has just announced the re-introduction of the popular 10/22 rifle line. An affordable gun featuring a simple and rugged action, and a reliable detachable rotary magazine, the 10/22 remains a benchmark in the rimfire world. Launched in 1964, 61 years later and with more than 10 million produced, the “new” 10/22s will be available in an enhanced and improved form.
Ruger 10/22 enhancements

Already offered in countless variants and special editions over the years, especially in the US the 10/22 series of semi-automatic rifles in .22 LR is something of an institution that has introduced many generations to hunting, sport shooting or simply to the pleasure of plinking.
Ruger now re-launches the 10/22 line with a series of improvements and enhancements previously found only in select configurations. These include a BX-Trigger, lightweight stock, match bolt release, and a receiver that incorporates a rear cleaning port.

The BX-Trigger boasts a light, crisp 2.5-3 pound trigger pull weight with minimal overtravel and a positive reset; the black polymer stock has M-LOK slots at the 6 o’clock position along with textured panels on the pistol grip and forend; the match bolt lock allows the user to easily advance the bolt with a quick pull and release of the cocking handle, while the receiver incorporates a rear cleaning port, providing access to the barrel from the rear of the receiver for ease of cleaning. All the aforementioned improvements were based on extensive consumer feedback, Ruger claims.
The “overhauled” 10/22 rifles include four variants, two with alloy steel barrel and two with stainless steel barrel (with satin black and satin stainless finish respectively), with 16.40"/416 mm or 18.50"/470 mm barrel length. Rear sight is adjustable and the front sight has a gold bead. Magazine capacity is 10 rounds as usual. Prices in the US range from $299 to $369. A combination scope base adapter for both Weaver-style and .22 tip-off scope mounts is included.
