Meprolight introduces the MVO variable optic line to the defense market: three models for professional use

Meprolight, an SK Group company and world leader in the field of electro-optics for military, law enforcement and commercial use, inotrduced the Meprolight Variable Optic (MVO) family of professional riflescopes for the defense market at the Defense & Security Thailand trade fair.

The most powerful scope of the trio is the Meprolight the MVO 6-36x56, optimised for long-range shooting.

The MVO family, already in operational use, includes three technologically advanced models: the MVO 1-8x28, designed as a low-power variable magnification (LPVO) optic for dynamic short- and mid-range engagement; the MVO 3-18x44, a versatile medium-power (MPVO) scope optimized for tactical or competition applications; and the MVO 6-36x56, a high-power (HPVO) solution tailored for long-range and precision shooting at extreme distances. Each scope is designed to MIL-SPEC standards, built around a rugged 34-mm main tube that is fully waterproof and fogproof, and can withstand at least one full 30-minute immersion in water at one meter. Each scope is built to operate in extreme temperatures ranging from -40° to +70°C and is tested to withstand high-recoil calibers, ensuring performance in the harshest operational environments.

High-quality German Schott multi-coated glass delivers more than 92% light transmission, offering exceptional image sharpness and contrast in low light, glare and mirage conditions. Each optical system is designed using advanced simulation and precision lens design, providing consistent eye relief, a forgiving eyebox and a wide field of view for enhanced situational awareness. Features include red and green reticle illumination with eight brightness levels, NVG compatibility and an automatic shut-off after 12 hours. The smooth magnification ring supports an optional throw lever, and precise windage and elevation adjustments are verified through live-fire testing and collimator calibration.

"In today's operational landscape, clarity, reliability and speed of engagement are mission-critical. The MVO family is engineered to give users the ability to operate in any environment, under any conditions, with optics that deliver absolute precision and uncompromising durability," said Meprolight Senior Vice President Golan Kalimi, ."Whether in close-quartes or long-range missions, MVO ensures that no detail is missed, and no shot is compromised."

The intermediate model, the MVO 3-18x44 mounted on an IWI Dan rfile in .338 Lapua Magnum.
