New from Smith & Wesson: improved CSX E-Series 9mm carry pistols

Not just an upgrade, but an evolution: this is how Smith & Wesson is introducing the new CSX E-Series 9mm carry pistols. The highlights include an optics-ready slide, extended capacity, updated trigger, improved stippling, and a longer barrel option. Two versions are available, with 3.1" or 3.6" barrel respectively, both with 1:10” twist and with the same price tag ($699 in the US).

Apart from barrel length, the CSX E-Series pistols share the same features: they are hammer-fired and the barrel is stainless steel with Armornite finish; the aluminum alloy frame sports a flat black finish. Grip is polymer.

The modified RMS-C/507K optic footprint has the S&W ClearSight cut designed to strategically divert gasses away from your optic lens when firing – factory iron sights are white 3-dot type.

In terms of fire capacity, the CSX E-Series ships with three magazines (and adapters): 12-round, 15-round, and 17-round options. This, together with the three backstraps also included, guarantees great versatility, converting from micro-compact to compact frame size and from ultra-slim, to standard and extended options: size down for ultimate deep concealment or size up for better handling when shooting, according to your needs. 

Moreover, the CSX E-Series is completely ambidextrous thanks to its mirrored controls and reversible magazine release.

The enhanced E-Series SA-only trigger boasts a light, clean break with 40% reduction in trigger pull angle and improved reset. According to the manufacturers claim, the straighter, more linear pull to the rear aids in accuracy when firing too.

Besides the already mentioned modular grip adapter, the extensive grip texture coverage adds to comfort and ease of use.
