Ruger RXM pistol, now with threaded barrel

Ruger announced the expansion of the 9mm RXM pistol line with a new model featuring a 1/2"-28 threaded barrel for the mounting of popular accessories such as silencers. The latest RXM model comes with a thread protector when the barrel thread is not in use. Also included, a spare guide rod assembly featuring an 18-lb recoil spring that can be used to help tune function of the pistol with an installed suppressor.

Ruger RXM, with Magpul Enhanced Handgun Grip

The Ruger RXM is the result of a  collaboration between Ruger and Magpul and most major components of the RXM are designed for Glock Gen3 compatibility.

For the rest, the new model is a standard RXM, that is a polymer-frame striker firer featuring a removable serialized stainless steel Fire Control Insert (FCI) set inside an interchangeable Magpul Enhanced Handgun Grip (EHG) for maximum flexibility and customization – introduced in the last days of 2024, the RXM is in fact the result of a  collaboration between Ruger and Magpul, the well-known US designer and manufacturer of high-tech polymer and composite firearms accessories. A variety of grip frames is available so that consumers can customize their pistol. Above all, most major components of the RXM are designed for Glock Gen3 compatibility: many off-the-shelf holsters and accessories made for Glocks are therefore compatible too, which is an advantage.

Optic-ready: the Ruger RXM's slide allows for direct optic mounting of RMR, Delta Point Pro (DPP), and RMSc pattern optics. Co-witness-height steel sights with a tritium night front sight are included.

In detail, the Magpul EHG offers a Magpul's 3/4-scale TSP texture for a secure grip. Textured indexing pads for consistent finger / thumb placement also enhance comfort, while the low-profile flared magazine well allows for quicker magazine changes. Barrel is 4.50"/114 mm. Trigger is flat-faced.

The EHG grip has a trigger guard undercut and beaver tail to promote a high grip for better control, an extended magazine release, a raised slide stop and a universal-pattern accessory rail for use with a variety of lights and lasers.

The additional heavier 18 lb guide rod / recoil spring assembly can be used to help tune the pistol to user's chosen suppressor and ammunition.

Safety features include integrated trigger safety, internal striker blocker and chamber inspection port. For a suggested retail price in the US of $569, Ruger's RXM package  includes two Magpul PMAG 15 GL9 15-round magazines and co-branded plastic carry case.
