Ruger 22/45 “Lite”

Ruger 22/45 “Lite”
The Ruger 22/45 “Lite” wonʼt abandon the practical and effective design that has been the most important factor in the seriesʼ success

How Sturm Ruger & Co., once berated as one of the most “conservative” (in terms of products line) companies in the firearms industry, has turned in the past years into an innovation powerhouse is in plain sight: a whole array of new models in the turn of three years revolutioned its catalogue, which entered the 21st Century pretty abruptly. One of the main new products proposed by Ruger for the year 2012 is the Ruger 22/45 “Lite”, a lightweight version of the classic Ruger 22/45 pistol with a new aluminum upper receiver and a Zytel synthetic frame. Chambered in the popular .22-Long Rifle caliber, the Ruger 22/45 “Lite” is accurate and reliable, making it the ideal lightweight rimfire pistol, with an additional hard-to-beat “cool factor”: a customized look without the customized price, and a threaded barrel that provides great accessory options and makes it a perfect all-round talent package right out of the box

Ruger 22/45 “Lite”
The new Zytel frame and aluminum upper keep the total weight of the Ruger 22/45 “Lite” just at 22.80 oz.

The Ruger 22/45 “Lite” upper receiver is made of aircraft-grade aluminum and features serrated cuts, giving the pistol a dramatic look and making it extremely lightweight at only 22.8 ounces. The 4.4-inch stainless steel barrel sleeve is held in place by a tension nut to ensure accuracy and features a factory 1/2-28 thread to accept popular muzzle accessories. The receiver is finished in a striking gold anodize and is drilled and tapped for Weaver-style scope base adapters (included free of charge with the gun) for easy mounting of optics. The comfortable, precision-molded Zytel polymer grip frame features replaceable Hogue black rubber grip panels that can be swapped out to customize the look of your Ruger 22/45 “Lite” pistol. The Ruger 22/45 “Lite” counts as one of the best outdoor leisure guns available on the market today, and results extremely versatile and well-apt for target shooting, plinking, small game hunting, or competitive shooting.
