Rossi Brawler, the utility gun now also available in 5.56 NATO and .300 BLK

Rossi originally introduced the Rossi Brawler in .45 Colt/.410 shotshell. Now the single-shot utility gun expands the available chamberings with a version in  5.56x45mm NATO and one in .300 Blackout.

The Rossi Brawler is a single-shot, break-action utility gun. Receiver is polymer.

Apart from the different calibers, the two latest additions are mechanically and visually the same – and have the same intended use: a survivalists' tool, or “A minimalist workhorse for the backcountry, ranch, or bug-out bag”, to use the manufacturer's words. Let's delve into further detail.

Rossi Brawler, a versatile platform

The integrated Picatinny rail of the Rossi Brawler makes the gun more versatile.

The Rossi Brawler platform in 5.56 NATO and .300 BLK is a single-shot, hammer-fired gun featuring a break-action design and single-action trigger. Barrel is 9 inch (228 mm) long with a 1:7 RH twist rate, while overall length is 355 mm, so it doesn't take up too much space in your rucksack. The gun comes without any sights, but is optic-ready thanks to an integrated Picatinny rail. The receiver is polymer, which means that the Brawler is relatively lightweight, at 1,375 g (unloaded). It also features a heavy-duty rubber grip and cross-bolt safety. Metal parts have a black oxide finish.

A compact folding stock that is compatible with the Brawler gun is available from Rossi as an optional.

Rossi claims that the 5.56 NATO and .300 BLK Brawler variants are ideal as trail companions and/or last-ditch defenders. Undoubtedly, their simple break-action, the optic-ready rail and powerful chamberings make them perfect even for campers and hunters. Moreover, price is gentle on any budget, with the  5.56 NATO Brawler costing $302.99 and the .300 BLK version just one buck more, at $303.99 (MSRPs in the US).

Rossi also offers a compact folding stock assembly that is compatible with the Brawler gun, priced at $59.99. This makes the Brawler even more versatile while still being compact and easy to transport.
