New Beretta 92X Performance Optic Dark Series: competition in full color

The 9mm Beretta 92X Performance Optic is now available in its Dark Series edition: a colorful series with five different, lively color configurations for aluminum grips and triggers, including black, red, yellow, or blue, with an additional blue configuration that also comes with a beveled magwell and extended pad for an extra 2-rounds capacity that adds to the already large 92X Performance's 18-round standard magazine capacity. All this with the match improved functional and ergonomic features of the 92X family, of course. Compliant with the IPSC and USPSA Production and Optic division regulations, the 92X Performance Optic is in fact designed as a high-performance competition gun, as the gold medal Simon JJ Racaza’s won using it in the last IPSC World Championship clearly shows.

The Beretta 92X Performance Optic Dark Series, here in the yellow configuration, features a Vertec steel frame that, together with the Brigadier heavy slide, increases the pistol's stability and reduces muzzle rise when shooting.

We published an article on the Beretta 92X Optic when the gun was first introduced back in 2022: the highlights are the Vertec steel frame featuring a straight backstrap and the "optics ready" Brigadier heavy slide, which is designed for the direct mounting of a mini-reflex red dot sight. Other features include a micrometrically adjustable rear sight and a Match front sight with 1.0-mm red fiber optic insert. But overall, everything here has been updated to provide the shooter with a better feel and performance: the oversized controls, the aggressive texture on the aluminum grips, the DLC-coated firing pin and Match skeletonized hammer for major friction reduction and smooth functioning, and the Xtreme-S trigger mechanism, reducing reset by up to 40% for optimized timing and handling. (The Xtreme-S trigger is also adjustable for overtravel and reset.)

The 92X Performance Optic is a high-performance competition gun compliant with the IPSC and USPSA Production and Optic division regulations.

The latest Dark Series, despite the name actually referring to the Graphite Grey finish which is darker than the original Nistan, is an explosion on color with the red, yellow, or blue of the aluminum trigger color-matching with the selected grips. The new low-glare Graphite Grey finish offers optimal pistol durability and corrosion resistance.

The 92X Performance Dark Series retains the same ergonomics and features of the popular 92X Performance platform, of course: the 92X Performance has an “out of the box” trigger pull weight of 1.5-2.0 kg in single action and 3.0-3.5 kg in double action; the Match disassembly latch simplifies and speeds up field stripping for maintenance; and the optics-ready slide cut allows the mounting of red dots. All in all, with the new 92X Performance Optic Dark Series you got the same top competition machine you expect from Beretta, but with an additional splash of color – which never hurts.
