Primary Arms HTX-1 red dot with modular chassis system

Thanks to the innovative mounting solution from Primary Arms, the HTX-1 is designed to sit particularly low on the gun and thus enable co-witness.

The PLx HTX-1 now presented by Primary Arms Optics is an enclosed red dot sight with a modular mounting system. According to the manufacturer, this means that it can be mounted on 90 to 95 per cent of all optics-ready pistols. The PLx in the name indicates that the new sight is a member of the Platinum line from Primary Arms. This is the highest quality line in the US manufacturer's portfolio. Accordingly, the HTX-1 is "MADE in USA". We have already provided an overview of the various series here at all4shooters. The HTX, on the other hand, stands for the origin: Houston, Texas.

New Primary Arms PLx HTX-1 – MADE in USA: technical details

The design of the HTX-1 is characterised by a patented, modular mounting system that is intended to offer compatibility with the majority of modern optic-ready pistols. Compared to conventional adapter plates, this system should not only provide a more stable connection, but also a lower sight line, which offers co-witness with the original sights. This design is also intended to improve compatibility with standard holsters.

According to Primary Arms, the HTX-1 is designed for demanding operating conditions and has a housing made of robust 7075 aluminum. Reinforced side panels and recessed windows provide optimum protection against impacts and dirt. Primary Arms encapsulates the electronics and hardware to ensure reliable operation even under extreme conditions.

The controls can be seen on the left-hand side of the Primary Arms HTX-1. For example, 11 brightness settings and 3 night vision levels can be selected.

The HTX-1 is equipped with a double lens that is finished with a reflection-reducing coating. Two reticle options are available for the market launch: the ACSS Vulcan dot reticle with an outer ring for fast target acquisition or a classic 4-MOA dot reticle. The ACSS Vulcan reticle is a solution patented by Primary Arms, which signals to the shooter when the gun is not correctly aimed. We have already explained the reticle in detail. A CR2032 battery inserted into the side of the HTX-1 supplies it with power, while the AutoLive function is designed to conserve battery life when the optic is not in use.
