Remington Arms Company, LLC., and PARA-USA, Inc., two mainstays of the Freedom Group of Companies, the first and foremost conglomerate in the American gun manufacturing industry, announced last July 12 to have joined as Industry Partners the Armed Citizen Alliance (ACA), a non-profit organization that promotes hands-on education and training for individuals interested in concealed carry and personal defense firearms.
The Remington Arms Company, LLC, (“Remington”) headquartered in Madison (North Carolina), designs, produces and sells sporting goods products for the hunting and shooting sports markets, as well as solutions to the military, government and law enforcement markets. Founded in 1816 in upstate New York, the Company is one of the nation's oldest continuously operating manufacturers. Remington is the only U.S. manufacturer of both firearms and ammunition products and one of the largest domestic producers of shotguns and rifles. The Company distributes its products throughout the U.S. and in over 55 foreign countries, and has been part of the Freedom Group of Companies since 2009.
PARA-USA, LLC., (“Para”) has been founded in Scarborough, near Toronto (Ontario, Canada) in 1985 as the “PARA-Ordnance Mfg. Co., Inc”, and quickly built a solid and enviable reputation for innovation, performance and reliability. Firearms enthusiasts, serious shooting competitors and law enforcement agencies choose with confidence from a wide and growing variety of PARApistols. PARA’s revolutionary high capacity frame and light double action (LDA™) trigger systems are part of the innovation that PARA has brought to the world-famous 1911 design. The Canadian company established a subsidiary in the more gun-friendly United States in 2009, and PARA-USA became part of the Freedom Group of Companies in 2012.
«Since coming on the market in 1988, PARA has been a leader in high quality Model 1911 pistols, moreover, with our award-winning Carry Safe™ line of pistols, a favorite among shooters and personal defense advocates for its unique Light Double Action (LDA®) trigger system, we’re a perfect match for ACA», said Scott Blackwell, Chief Sales and Marketing Officer for Remington and PARA-USA on behalf of the Freedom Group of Companies. «Plus, the re-introduction of the Remington Model 1911 R1 in 2010, combined with our longtime leadership role in the home defense market, makes Remington’s ACA sponsorship a natural fit for our nearly 200-year-old American brand. We understand the great responsibility that comes with manufacturing concealed carry and personal defense firearms. This is why we support the ACA, an organization that provides law-abiding citizens with access to proper training and instruction conducive to the safe handling of personal defense firearms».
The creation of ACA coincides with an increased demand for concealed carry permits across the Unites States and 24 straight months of increased firearm sales all throughout the Country.
«We’re always happy to see Americans exercising their Second Amendment rights», continued Blackwell. «We’re even happier knowing the ACA is there to help them learn, practice and improve their safe-handling of personal defense firearms. With more and more Americans joining the Second Amendment community, it is imperative that members of industry work to support safe and effective firearms training. The ACA is second to none in their hands-on approach to personal defense education. Remington and PARA are proud to support them in this effort».
