The most important new feature that will tell the HIT Show apart from all other gun shows that take or ever took place in Italy − including the now defunct EXA show, formerly the main yearly event of the Italian civilian gun industry − is a long list of events, stages and real-life simulations, held by a group of qualified expert instructors (most of them with a law enforcement background), dedicated to armed and unarmed personal defense techniques, to threat assessment and managment and to stress managment in dangerous situations.
As reported on the HIT Show's official website, "HIT 2015 is not just an exhibition, but a rich experience providing demonstrations and dedicated areas for companies to showcase and effectively promote their products through interactive areas and simulations, dinamic displays, instructional events, and workshops".
Can such a concept be successful? The IWA show in Nuremberg (Germany) has been hosting demonstrations of new products and techniques for years now, mostly dedicated to law enforcement gear. The HIT Show can be a pioneer in this field, bringing demonstrations and simulations in a purely civilian environment (the HIT Show, unlike the SHOT Show and IWA, is open to the general public to attend!), allowing law enforcement personnel, private security operators and average citizens visiting the Vicenza city fairgrounds to witness these instructional activities.
Uniformed operators aren't the only ones, out there, forced to tackle the mounting threat of violent crime: common citizens are the victims of crime, and for the first time in Italy, HIT Show will allow the general public to witness the most up-to-date theories and techniques concerning individual protection.
Will this new format breach the (let's face it!) retrograde and politically correct Italian society and gun industry trade shows sector? We'll see. In the meanwhile, save the dates: the HIT Show awaits on Friday the 14th, 15th and 16th − that's merely a couple of days ahead!
