New Savage 110 Ultralite Elite rifle: for extreme backcountry hunters

Savage clearly states that its new 110 Ultralite Elite is aimed to “the extreme backcountry hunters that demand performance when every ounce counts”. And with a weight that, depending on caliber, ranges between 2,6 and 2.7 kg, the latest addition to the 110 bolt-action rifle family is a lightweight indeed.

To save weight, the Savage 110 Ultralite Elite features a PROOF Research carbon fiber wrapped stainless steel barrel and MDT folding carbon fiber stock.

Similarly to the 110 Ultralite model we already presented on all4shooters.com, this result has been in part achieved thanks to the exclusive Savage designed, PROOF Research carbon fiber wrapped stainless steel barrel. But the 110 Ultralite Elite also features an HNT26 folding carbon fiber stock from MDT to save even more grams (or ounces, if you prefer). The foam filled, folding carbon buttstock with adjustable LOP and comb height includes four 1/4" spacers.

Barrel is 5/8x24 muzzle threaded, while the exclusive MDT HNT26 Chassis has a carbon fiber forend with integrated ARCA rail and a carbon fiber pistol grip. The Magnesium center section of the rifle has a Gun Metal Grey Cerakote finish. On the other hand, the 8-40 drilled & tapped stainless steel receiver has a Blackout Cerakote finish. Bolt is diamond fluted and coated with Blackout Cerakote; the bolt handle is threaded (5/16x24) with a carbon fiber bolt knob
