Ruger's popular American Rifle Generation II – which already includes models in 48 configurations and 21 calibers – expands with the addition of the latest Prairie variants, available in both intermediate and long range calibers including .308 Winchester, 6.5 Creedmoor, .223 Remington, .22 ARC, .300 Winchester Magnum and 7mm PRC (the last two chamberings will be available soon).
Ruger American Rifle Generation II Prairie: six calibers available

Among Generation II Prairie models features, the bull contour, cold hammer-forged barrel helps to mitigate recoil – a shallow spiral fluting provides additional cooling. Muzzle is threaded for the mounting of suppressors or other accessories and comes with a color-matched thread protector. Barrel, receiver and bolt handle finish is a distinctive and easy-to-maintain Smoked Bronze Cerakote coating.
The attractive and rigid black stock is textured with gray and bronze splatter for excellent grip and control in the field, and allows for length-of-pull and comb height adjustments.

Prairie model also come with the patented Power Bedding integral bedding block system that positively locates the receiver and free-floats the barrel for improved accuracy. Thanks to Ruger Marksman adjustable trigger, the rifles also offer a crisp release – pull weight is user adjustable between 3 and 5 pounds (1,360-2,270 g). Tang safety is the familiar three-position type.
Capacity ranges from 3 to 10 rounds, depending on caliber, but barrel length remains the same for all chamberings – that is 20”/508 mm – just like the US recommended price, at $729.

308 Winchester and 6.5 Creedmoor rifle variants use AI-style magazines, while the rifles in .223 Remington and .22 ARC come with AR-style straight magazines. The full diameter three-lug bolt is CNC machined from stainless steel and offers a 70 degree throw for ample scope clearance. The bolt handle is threaded for easy customization and fitted with an anodized round knob.
