Available in .223 Rem/5.56 NATO and .300 Blackout, fed from detachable 10-round box magazines and compatible with the most common MSR magazines on the market, fully ambidextrous controls, free-floated threaded barrel capable of sub-MOA accuracy: until a few years ago no one would have thought that these could be the features of a lever action rifle.
Yet, lever-action guns have entered a new generation (read our article here), and now we are talking about the new Lever Action Supreme Rifle (or LASR for short) from Henry. The LSAR “represents the culmination of over 150 years of lever-action evolution”, the manufacturer claims. You can see a short presentation in the video below:

In addition to the features mentioned above, the LSAR comes with a patent-pending quad bar linkage and slider crank action for unmatched speed and smoothness, together with a match-grade 4-pound adjustable trigger formaximum control and comfort. The bolt has a six-lug rotating face. Hammer is internal – which means that all moving parts are sealed off from the elements when the action is closed, keeping out dust, dirt, and debris – while the patent-pending trapezoidal sighting system is windage and elevation adjustable using the same tool that adjusts the trigger pull weight. If you want to mount any optic, the receiver is drilled and tapped to accept an optics base.
Henry claims that the free-floated blued steel barrel is fully capable of sub-MOA accuracy (with the right conditions and cartridge selection, of course). Barrel length is 18” for the .223 Rem/5.56 NATO and 16.5” for the .300 BLK.
Speaking of materials, stock is genuine American walnut with diamond checkering; receiver is aerospace-grade aluminum. Factory-sling swivel studs are pre-installed along with a solid rubber recoil pad.
Since theLSAR is a lever-action gun and therefore has no gas system, it is perfect for use with suppressors. The muzzle is threaded to accept any device. Maintenance and cleaning is easy, thanks to familiar punch pin disassembly.
The ambidextrous controls include the tang safety switch and patent-pending magazine release. The Henry Lever Action Supreme Rifle comes with a 10-round PMAG with a 5-round limiter to comply with hunting regulations. Price (MSRP in the US) is $1,299 for both the 223 Rem/5.56 NATO and .300 Blackout versions. Other caliber options are announced.
