The Sporting discipline, which has many enthusiasts and often sees these guns used for hunting in the US, involves variable shots at different distances and quite dynamic trajectories. Dedicated shotguns therefore require specific characteristics not only in terms of balance – which must facilitate swinging – but also in terms of barrels and stocks for rapid clay target acquisition. Other fundamental construction features to ensure the durability and accuracy of the gun are the T-REX interchangeable iron fore-end repositioning system, and the IRF system, which consists in a hardened, chromed steel interchangeable insert at the breech. After years of firing, this allows the shooter to restore the solidity of the breech, basically giving the over-and-under a second life.
