The Smith & Wesson M&P Shield X is optic-ready. Factory sights include a front night sight and a blacked-out serrated U-notch rear sight.

“Adaptability” is the watchword for the new M&P Shield X, thanks to improved ergonomics for a better fit and feel in the hand, enhanced and aggressive front and rear slide serrations for easier racking, and the longer, re-designed grip for added capacity and superior control.

The Smith & Wesson M&P Shield X is also available in a version with thumb safety (image). Capacity is 13+1 with flush-fit magazine – as seen here – or 15+1 with extended magazine.

The pistol is optic-ready, and the slide sports the S&W's ClearSight Cut, a unique design that diverts gasses away from your optic for an unobstructed sight picture view when firing. Factory sights include am Ameriglo Trooper LumiGreen front night sight and a blacked-out serrated U-notch rear sight. The slide cut is for flat-plane RMSc/K optics. As dictated by current trends, the trigger is flat-faced, allowing for consistent finger placement. The grip front and rear are textured. Magazine catch is reversible. A front rail allows for the mounting of accessories such as lights and lasers.

With a compact design, the Shield X has a 3.6”/91 mm, 1:10” twist barrel. Both barrel and slide are stainless steel with Armornite finish; frame is polymer.

Two models are available, with or without thumb safety.

The new Smith & Wesson M&P Shield X 9mm pistol comes with a price tag of $599 (MSRP in the US). As mentioned above, this includes a 15-round magazine and a 13-round magazine.
