Back to the origins: Beretta releases the 92SB Repro

In the beginning it was the Model 92 with frame-mounted safety introduced in the 1970s; then came the 92S which replaced the frame-mounted safety with a slide-mounted combined safety and decocking lever; after that, in the early 1980s Beretta introduced the upgraded 92SB Model (for "Sicura Bilaterale", or double-sided safety) – the last before the 92F Model that, on February 14, 1985, was to become the US Army officially adopted sidearm for the next 32 years as the M9 pistol. To celebrate 50 years of the legendary 90 Series and a defining chapter in the company’s history, Beretta USA has released a faithful and limited-edition reproduction of the 92SB, the 92SB Repro.

Beretta 92SB Repro, an exclusive limited edition

The 9mm Beretta 92SB Repro is conceived as an exclusive series designed for collectors and enthusiasts, with all the features of the original 92SBs.

Beretta 92SB Repro a polished anodized frame
The Beretta 92SB Repro features a polished anodized frame, polished blued slide and barrel, and rounded trigger guard. Grips are G10.

These include a polished anodized frame, polished blued slide and barrel, a rounded trigger guard – instead of the 92F’s iconic squared-off trigger guard - and a flat dust cover.

Still like the original gun, all the components including the recoil rod, trigger, safety levers, magazine release, and lanyard loop are metal, with upgraded internals like the short reset trigger bar for faster follow-up shots and D hammer spring.

Beretta 92SB Repro
The Beretta 92SB Repro comes in a special bespoke collector’s packaging. Only 1,526 units will be produced.

Among the small departures from the original, on the other hand, are the G10 grips instead of the original plastic ones, and the enlarged hammer pin that fits into a groove on the underside of the slide – this was actually introduced with the 92FS model to stop the slide from flying off the frame to the rear in case of catastrophic failures.

“Celebrating 50 Years of the 90 Series” is engraved on the slide and each pistol have a unique serial number.

Each Beretta 92SB Repro also comes in a special bespoke collector’s packaging and with a history booklet chronicling the 90 Series legacy. Two 15-round magazines with flat baseplates to preserve the classic silhouette are included.

Only 1,526 units of the Beretta 92SB Repro will be produced.

This justifies the price of the collectible and exclusive celebrative piece, starting from $1,526.00
